TYVM (see DD it so IS a thing) for last week and this week. Mama decided we would finish the wallpapering today (rest was done in summer hols LOL)- so, by the time she and Papa arrived I had taken down the blind, and the curtain, (I have vertical blinds - sun comes in first thing) and the rail, and reduced the coffee table to it's constituent parts (no takers on FB when offered for sale; given previous experience when giving stuff away I am not offering it for £0) so that will go to tip tomorrow, en route to the paid stuff. And stuff needed brought down from loft...
and fast forward to this evening - decorating done, window cleaned, LR almost all cleaned (am working round) sofas swapped around, tree up. Missing are garland for banister and candle bridge so a reluctant child will be pushed into loft to look in old bedding box as that is only place they can be - to look. Tree decorated and up. Tha Vallikids wnat to be collected Fri/Sat (DD) and Sun (DS) so am glad I didn't book ticket for work night out (also Sunday - likelihood is I would be too exhausted (was going to type 'K' word) or late to go. Am now pondering thought of going for DD straight from work on Friday as will be already half way there. And if I set off before 4pm traffic might not be too horrendous..
Please bear in mind cleaning includes washing down hence why it's a l-o-n-g job! Took all glass lightshades down and washed them. Thus removing arachnid abseiling evidence
That Christmas Stocking is beautiful...
Anyway the main post 'builders' in cleaning is now done, so hopefully, by Friday, Villa Valli will be perfect. To quote Mama 'you're in a tip' (trans - the house is both a mess and dirty) well yeah - been so busy...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good Morning all

Busy week for everybody this week I expect, try to find moments for yourself, you can't give from an empty vessel. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning everyone, can't believe it's Monday already! J has gone to Basingstoke and will be going to France later in the week - back in the UK 22nd December, home 23rd December. We talked some more on the weekend, I raised his control issues (again) - he doesn't think he has any but said we can work it out and I actually told him the way he was on Thursday was the equivalent of kicking a dog and then being really overly nice to it afterwards .... not that I'm a dog but you get the gist. Anyhow, he has apologised for the way he has been behaving and realised that it is unacceptable, I think we have cleared the air and I'm standing strong.
So today I need to go to the shops, I have a typing job to do plus today's cleaning jobs. Bit more wrapping to do too. It's S's birthday on Saturday but everything is all done for that thankfully.
Have a good day and sorry to ramble on about J; thanks for all your help and support over the last week with this.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Morning all,
Started typing a post last night to say sorry for being awol last week, just so so busy, but fell asleep in the middle of it.
Anyway I'm in. Last few days I have finished Christmas present shopping, wrapped a lot of it, wrote cards, posted cards, (including flycards and secret santa) Ps natty I fear they may be a day late, really sorry xxx
There was a lot of water on Saturday, dizzy I hope everything is OK with you. Our garden flooded again (thankfully house escaped) and really most of the lawn is now completely round.
I have also done a bit more decorating , cleaned LR, and trimmed up. Thanks for lists Bossy ,I'm going to try and do some of them as well as decorating this week as the house is a dump. not in paid stuff until Thursday.
Plan:
Daily stuff.
Bit of list.
Sweep up outside a bit.
Finish present wrapping.
Touch up paint in girls new bedroom
Final floor varnish also
Start sanding filler in hall
Phew!
Have a good Monday all x0 -
