Just catching up. Felt rough when I got up, but didn't want to cause hassle and cancel uni. Tired after, but glad I did it.
    - one load of washing done and hung up
    - more decs on tree
    - Xmas food boxes wrapped and filled
    - 2 phone calls sorted
    - last card posted (famous last words)
    - charity leaflets typed to go in people's cards
-bit more of a report done
    - paperwork ready for tomorrow's students. The last ones before January, hurray.
    - Invitation issued to friends, MIL and MIL's friend to come to pm carol service with us Sun eve then back for dinner. How did that happen? Was already planning to go to am carol service, hm.
    - accepted 'drinks and nibbles' invitation from friends for next Wed afternoon.
    - put all new invitations and events on calendar immediately or I'll get very confused........

That's about it. Doesn't sound very substantial really.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Well so much for being ill... I have literally just had to hang the wet washing up on the midden, iron a shirt for hubby and finish the hoovering. Oh and that was after I had to cook the dinner.. I asked him to do these things for me but all I got was "I've got to walk the dogs - the puppy needs to go out tonight" then I have to go to bed as I need to get up at 4am.. I bloody give up. At this rate I'll end up in hospital - maybe that will shock him into actually realising I'm ill. Oh and the goody - I have just found out I have to cook the christmas dinner at the inlaws as the FIL will be at home but won't be able to get out of the bed all day. So his mother will be with him all the time.. I can't be ill can I...I did get told if I didn't like it then I could stay at home.. Home alone on my own on Christmas Day..no thank you. I would end up doing something that I wouldn't be proud of. All I ask is to actually get over this pneumonia without it developing into something else...

Natty - go to bed AND STAY THERE... the more you do the more 'they' will think you CAN do!

I definitely ditto the 'Go to bed and stay there' post. It's probably the only way you will get the message across that you are not Superwoman and need some help !!

Monday - a bit of everything!
Wipe down your front door, inside and out.

Tuesday - kitchen and dining room
Spend 15min on a DR hotspot
    Are all your cards posted?

    Wednesday -
Feather dusters at the ready: tickle all corners you can safely reach, including around light fittings, near the loft hatch, door frames and mouldings, pictures and photo frames, surfaces such as bedside tables and chests of drawers, and lastly window sills.
Vac through all your lovely clear floors!

    Thursday - living room
Remove all the bits and bobs that don't belong here and spend 15min rehoming them.
Dusting and dewebbing. All the picture frames, coffee tables, electricals (carefully), fireplace, light fittings.
Give the sofas and chairs a wipe, yes, even the grotty gap between the seat cushions _pale_
Vac through all your lovely clear floors!
    Polish the mirror :)

    Extras
Do you need to hand deliver any cards

(hugs) for everyone, sticks and spoons if you need some
Hope you all have a super Thursday

Natty.. good grief, did DH not tell them to bog off and that you are ill!! Cheeky beasts.. you know what.. they'd be getting takeaway or cereal!! How utterly rude! Does FIL actually NEED to be in bed all day? Does MIL NEED to be with him all that time or is she just skiving and putting on you?? I'd be furious... I'm furious on your behalf! If you were closer I would send OH to pick you up and place you on my sofa for the day! Look after yourself FIRST! You are no use to anyone if you end up in hospital over Christmas.. xx

    Valli assembly sounds brilliant
Bossy sorry to read your course isn't happening, I hope the other college are running it
Natty you are not superwoman and you NEED to put yourself first for a change, go to bed and refuse to do anything till you are recovered. Ther should be people looking after you so don't go running round after them and making yourself feel worse. Hugs.

Hope all are as well as can be hugs good wishes and posi vibes to those in need and sticks and spoons for those who want them.

Went for a walk with Dh last night so all the local cards got delivered.
Nice neighbour popped over with her cards for work so I'll be taking those in today.

Have one more parcel to post but that's going on Saturday.
The wrapping I'm hoping to complete over the weekend
One more gift to buy then I think I can go into wind down and baking mode. Will need to catch up on some flying once I break up from school tomorrow afternoon. But I do feel reasonably organised this year.

    Morning all

Paid stuff done for the year (well I have 60 nletters to fold and post at home but that is ok). Going for a walk with my friend this morning and then I need to plan when to get all the things done that need doing still to fit around social arrangements.

Natty I have learnt now just to take to my bed when ill. Why hoover when ill? Your DH needs to iron his own shirt if you are ill and if you are well enough to go to inlaws he needs to help with the dinner. Hugs sweetie x

CY so glad you could return to work, hope you enjoyed it and are not wiped out.

Bossy hope the other college are running the course.

Piggers - any advise on buying Lu$h stuff? Need to get bath bombs for neices and there seem to be so many!

Gah! Too much to do - had non-stop workmen, tree fellers, flood assessors, caravan delivery, gas delivery, skip arrivals, skip collection, washing to cousin's wife etc... !!!!!!!!!

Still have loads to do today and the builders are back. The flood clearance guys are in London today, so one less thing to deal with. And breathe....

Been reading and digesting all the news - hugs all round xxx
  • Natty I had proper full on flu earlier this year and ended up getting up and cooking/washing up/tidying because no-one else was doing it. I realised afterwards that I had been stupid. Its not easy but as everyone else says stay in bed and try and ignore what else is going on in the house.

Good luck with the college Bossy.

Hugs to those feeling the strain. Hope LW is OK, thinking of you if you are lurking.

Right, kitchen floor washed, off to make myself presentable and get DS up, packed lunches, breakfast then off to work.

Have a good Thursday everyone x
