I can't believe the amount of judgemental posts on here
The OP has a disabled Daughter, and has lost a considerable amount of money, and was asking for advice. I agree she wont get reimbursed by the DWP, but less of the sanctimonious attitudes please
However, I don't understand that anyone would rely solely on their child's DLA to put food on the table for the whole family. I don't believe that DLA should even be considered to be used for that level of essentials. That what income from employment/benefit is for.
Still, I hope OP will find that friends and family rally to help at this time of year.0 -
I find the question in the OP bizarre. If I lost my purse I wouldn't imagine I could ask my employer to refund me. Sorry but it's a very strange question, I understand a temporary loan from somewhere but to have it replaced is simply bizarre.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0

You're right. It may be a fair bit more. There's Carers Allowance of £62 and if ESA/IS is involved, Carer Premium of £34 or if no carer a potential Severe Disability Premium of £62.
Those rates are triggered by DLA/PIP @ £55 or £82.
So the disabled person with no carer could be on £117 or £144 in addition to standard ESA rates and if there is a carer it could be the same rates or £151/£178 because of the disability and care needs also in addition to normal needs.
These will be the likely amounts involved unless the individuals manage to continue in employment or have high capital. If they don't have that good fortune, then means tested benefits and the amounts quoted will likely be in payment if not to one, then to two but in respect of disability and care needs.
For some they may cover needs adequately, for others insufficiently while others may do very well.
Nobody knows the full circumstances of those posting a few words on a forum.
At the same time, I don't think it does any good to deny these are the potential sums involved.0 -
Op said £150 quid which would be low rate care and mobility roughly, a month.
You cant work out what people get, from a few words.
There's two many variables, from someone just getting £21.55 a week to a full whack of £340.0 -

I'm really shocked at the lack of sympathy and outright disbelief that this actually happened (not to mention the discussion on how she spends the money she receives for her children) on this thread.0 -

I'd be deveststed to but I'd never think my employer should replace my wages, an advance/loan maybe but replace them it's very strange.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
