  • You are doing a fantastic job and caring for the people who need more around you. Take time for you too.
I use my emergency fund a bit like an overdraft, I know I shouldn't. Each month it gets topped up and I try to take less out , but it gives me the buffer for a family that likes to spring surprises on me. I believe that stabilises me not to panic.

We've had lots of financial disasters but now feel in a much better place. Its a great feeling not to have drowned over Christmas.

    Be proud of yourself

Thanks MFD we seem to be on the same hymn sheet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think that will be how I will run my emergency, as we both have as cast iron as you can get jobs and I have twice in the past been out of work but each time "got" job offers within days. I do have an od and have to say live in fear of it being pulled, coz that type of thing happens to me, so will be seeing at reducing it till it is gone, but that is a plan to orchestrate in February

DD just tugged the apron strings for £130 for fees, will get it back but my experience is that it doesn't always come as promised so have told her it can go towards my light fitments from N*xt :D

Great idea, I do hope you get it back, remember this is time for you, now, I know you would never see anyone short.

I'm a bit like that too, but doesn't stop me thinking, if I got back everything everyone said they would pay back ....... Sometimes I play the poverty card, and say, well, I can only manage a £100 would that help? :D translating to ... well don't ask for any more cause that's it .. i'm now skint. Reminding them that they earn double what I do, in a nice way, of course.:)

    Hi Sue

Just thought I'd pop in to say Hi and very best of luck with your MFW plans.

You have been through so much, you really do deserve to succeed and you will - we are here for you to lean on and rant at when the going gets tough - we are thick skinned - we can take it lol.

You are doing brilliantly - keep it up.
