Ignoring an official court claim document is never going to end well, and we never advise anyone to ignore claims.
As pointed out, the case would have been transferred to your girlfriend's local court, and help would have been provided on completing a defence. PE, due to the fact that it was ignored, will have obtained a default win - regardless of the merits of the claim - and now a CCJ will be shown on your girlfriend's credit record.
She can either pay this, and it will remain on her record, albeit marked as satisfied, or try and get it set aside, but to be honest if she has ignored the papers then her chances of her getting it set aside are very slim indeed.
Its a shame, if you'd come here for advice we could have guided you and/or your girlfriend through this process at the time.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Just an update since the last letter from Equita post Beavis case; I continue to ignore these scumbags. It's been over a month now since the last letter.
Perhaps they are now preparing to resort to taking this court? If that is the case then so be it. I will probably try and fight if possible but eventually just pay up. In any case, I understand it will be lower than the £200 they demanded in their last letter.
Will keep you updated. Very interested to find out how this all folds out post Beavis.

Equita can't take you to court - only ParkingEye, and as the most litigious PPC in the country and quick to act, you have to ask yourself why they haven't done so already and well before they got Equita involved.
Just be alert for a LBCCC from PE or real court papers, months ignore these. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you. Absolutely, I would never ignore any court related proceedings.
Guess I will cross that bridge when it comes to that as to what to do next.0 -
There was another Equita case highlighted in the "Money" section of today's Sunday Times. In this case the original parking ticket issued at Morrisons over two years ago was ignored then the Equita empty threat appear a couple of weeks ago.
The newspaper went directly to Morrisons who got the original ticket cancelled. The store then came out with the stupid statement that if the customer had complained directly to them and and had produced a receipt then they would have cancelled it immediately. I don't suppose there are notices either in store or around the car park to mentioning this. Instead they rely on motorists being mind-readers. Pathetic. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

No it doesn't, you need very good eyesight to be able to read the small print on their signs anyway!
I was trying to today, (very rare visit I can't stand them) and I was going cross eyed four feet away!0 -
I avoid Morrisons since our PE ticket.
I worked it out I have about another 30 years on this planet. Spend about 2.5k £50 a week on groceries a year. That's £75,000. Maybe Morrison's should look at the lifetime value of a customer.0 -

Read the NEWBIES thead, ther is a link 'Successful complaints about PPCs' where people have got these cancelled either early doors (as you should have done two years ago) or even years later by marching in and speaking to the Store manager or by assertively contacting the landowner or their agents to get them to cancel this, even now.
You MUST insist (in fact your husband must do the complaining). He could well be sued otherwise because that's what PE have done since 2013.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
