Yes I know, and yes I know the difference and that is all I said, no further references to that from me and never will be ok
  • Anyone who thought they could take on a Law society senior top rank member in court against senior Law society judges on a standing in what is in the legal capacity "a surf" was quite frankly mentally ill.
It simply does not work like that in the real world.

The best advice to move forward with as a consumer advice site is stay out and stay away from their car parks.
The only power joe public has is the pound notes in their pockets.

Yes you are right Mark, the consumer has the power if only they would use it

Its a education problem, they have to be hit from both ends, most think you can ignore private tickets and still do or at worst come here and a magic wand will tell you how to get out of paying.
It has to be drummed in at every opportunity, WE TOLD YOU SO !
Stay out stay away, spend somewhere else.
The ignore advice became common knowledge and so can the stay away advice.
Take the risk after ignoring good advice from consumer forums then you got what you asked for.
They are going open season and will issue tickets like no tomorrow so they are working on the other end.
We need to be on this end, making it clear the game has changed, stay out and stay away or get ready for some more tickets, the game is stacked so you lose.
Just a few percent drop in sales at retailers will be enough to make them sit up.

What other advice can there be ?
POPLA has changed, the law has changed, they can and will do as they like, they have it all sewn up.
What they can not sew up is people deciding to stay away.
It will be a trickle at first, then a river.

We think the same way Mark, if the consumer could email the CEO of the retailers, especially the supermarkets, saying that the reason they will not shop with them because they employ parking eye.
A list of parking eye car parks to avoid would be good

100% correct, it is a closed shop, bit like a cartel
Yep spot on they are all in it together 100% and don't like their gravy train tipped over.
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

that would be 90% impossible, as most victims haven't a clue about sites like this and just pay up to the scammers.

In that respect you are right but you know, there are currently two brilliant ways that work, first is word and mouth where this can spread widespread outside the forums. The second is Twitter

Of course if people are computer savvy its easy to make a video and upload it to youtube. I did youtube when the banking scam was around, mega hits. Next year will not be a good year for these parking scammers, far too many people have been burnt by them, its not going away

It would be a great thought if it worked, but the British public won't do it. Take my town in Cornwall. PE have the management of car parks for Aldi, Mc Donalds, KFC, Costa, Travelodge. In Newquay, the best surfing beach (Fistral) in the county. Try telling people not to use those places would be a challenge. The Aldi in our town is packed almost all day every day. So is the KFC, Mc D's, Costa.

Awareness works, just like speed cameras. Don't speed. No prosecution.

To be fair, its like our costa and KFC car park. If it were not managed, then all the employees of shops and businesses for the town would park there and leave no space for the customers of those food places that own the car park.

Play be the rules. You have 90 minutes to eat a KFC (longer if you have a party and tell the manager your reg number). No tickets, No profits for Capita.

In my daughter's case, I am not happy with the debt collecting companies letter as it does not state what its about. That in itself needs addressing as a point of law as to try and collect money for something that the motorist has not even had due process to appeal about it really quite ridiculous. Even worse PE would lie in court and say we sent these letters. (without proof of posting) which would be accepted I suspect.
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!
