Just to give everyone a laugh - in my bid to use up cupboard stores I used a 10 Bean salad mix in the chilli I made the night before last. Just had a comment from DH - 'we need to have the leftovers when I'm not in surgery the next day'.:rotfl: Apparently he was emitting noxious odours all day.
Another couple of small un-necessary spends. Its always while I'm waiting for buses (only 1 an hour). It's not so bad when it's warmer and dry, but cold or wet and I don't want to be at the bus stop, and Mr T and Mr W are virtually opposite both the stops I use. Still lots of lurking and not much posting. But keeping ALL my receipts in my GC purse so total is £67.87 / £120 budget. Which I think is pretty OK. I set the budget high as I've not joined in for a while, I'll bring it down a bit next month.
I go through loads of tinned tomatoes & chickpeas, so always looking for a bargain. B&M had toms for 39p / 3 for £1 and chickpeas for 29p! I think they are around 60p in the bigger supermarkets? They also had a lots of Heinz soups for 50p, I indulged myself a couple of tins of cream of tomato.
Off to go work my way through the thread, I do love reading all your posts. It's where I get most of my meal ideas from!
Thank-youMy name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!
Grocery Challenge
Feb 2016 - £46.73 / £100.000 -
DS had a football match after school with a late finish. We didn't have the planned spaghetti bolognaise. DH and I were not very hungry so we had beans on toast, the boys had homemade pizza. The homemade bases were destined for the freezer and there was some mozzarella open in the fridge which needed using up. The mince for the bolognaise will remain in the freezer and on the meal plan next week. Next weeks meal plan, which will take us to the end of the challenge, has been amended.
I have an on going shopping list, there's quite a lot on for my next shop but I will definitely stay within my budget.
Ive really enjoyed this challenge, thank you to all who run the challenge and everyone who contributes.

Hi all
I'm a bit annoyed! I missed the bus in town last night and decided to seek warmth in local Pondland rather than freeze at the bus stop for 30 minutes. Needless to say, I ended up spending £9.50, most of which was on rubbish! Chocs, soft drink, crisps - Garbage! I really want to eat better too, so having this crap in the house is not good!!
I'm really annoyed, as I now only have £2 left in my budget, which is going to be tight!!!2025 goals
GC: April £100
Savings: save £6K (or move house)
Health: Lose 3 stone
Mind: read at least 24 books0 -
DH nipped to Mr S for some beers to celebrate his 3lb loss at SW and was away for ages, I thought he must have gone for a kebab as well :rotfl:
But no, he came in with a bag full of stuff including 2 x 4 GF rolls @ 10p each, a pack of GF pittas (I use like naan bread) @ 10p each some GF full price crumpets and normal crumpets for breakfast tomorrow. Lovely thought but GF crumpets are 50p each
£3.15 to add leaving me 78p over budget with £9 available of nectar points on DH card, not sure what is on mine.
We still have plenty of food left from the weekend so not much needed for the final shop of the month. I am determined to come in as close to my original £250 budget as possible.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Evening all
A sort of NSD day for me. I, generally, work from home, but today I had to go into the office, so I "had" to buy lunch, however, I already had the money on my catercard, so I'm not going to count this ... this month.
I rarely spend more than £5 per month on work food/drink, hence, not getting too precious.
DH & DD made a gallon of bolognaise for dinner and other mealsDH also suggested we had sausages for dinner tomorrow with gravy he'd previously made and frozen ... so a bit of a double result really !!
