Not done too badly this week. My mum gave me a hotpot for the 4 of us this week and I stretched the chicken from Sunday to make chicken and leek stroganoff for tonight, which allowed me to use up some spare leeks from the fridge. In addition, I made 7 single portions of macaroni cheese for the freezer using up some cheddar. My 2 DD's are always making mac'n'cheese or buying it ready made 'cos they can't be bothered:mad: Only one more week to go and it looks like I am going to be under budget.Books - the original virtual reality.

NSD 'YAY'. But already over budget so it's putting a plaster on.
Very MSE dinner using up bendy bottom of fridge veg. Gardeners Pie - lentils, celery, carrot, parsnip bacon, stock and tomato puree with a butternut squash and cauliflower mash topping. Beats the normal dump everything into soup usual. It even got the DH seal of approvalGoals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

I will try to keep under £200. £67.98 left to spend.
My budget includes cleaning and general household stuff, but not alcohol as this goes in "entertainment" whether at home or out.
We had another NSD here today. I had kippers for tea and DH had an omelette, chips and beans.
Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday

Morning all.
DD called in A*di for me on her way home from uni exam. She stuck to the list. £20.20 on the list. Even resisted buying more butter and it was on offer. I would have filled the freezer! Have updated signature and now have £57 to end of Jan. 10 days. Hmmm, could be interesting.DD is away after friday and the shopping will fall to me. I may have to do another on line order to resist the temptation of impulse food purchases. For some reason I find it easier when not in store!
Plenty of milk and fridge stuff so will be ok for a few days.
Have fun all.

Morning all. Spent £7.66 in Farmfoods yesterday as I needed toilet rolls, milk and yoghurt. What is it with children and toilet rolls? Honestly, my lot get through so much of the stuff that I'm thinking of rationing!

We had a Mr T delivery yesterday, should have enough in to keep us going until late next week. I have a second purse for milk and fresh bits if we need them but I'm trying to stay away from the shops as much as I can
going reasonably well so far, I hoped to stay under £400 for the month and it's looking like I might just do it 😊

Hi all, been to Aldee this morning for my weekly shop, spent £28.82 which was lower than I was expecting. Will put the other £30 aside for the top ups, as I'll need formula milk and some more fruit at the beginning of next week. Off to update my signature, spending stands at £308.13Grocery Challenge 2024

Spent just short of £29 today at Aldo, budget is looking a bit squeeky, but I intentionally set it low, as it gives me a target - if I set it at 3 times the amount, I,d spend that - no willpowerNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

My middle son who's 4 is a nightmare with toilet roll, either unwinds it all or uses half a roll. I've been buying Nicky toilet rolls from Home B*rgains as it's good quality and the cheapest for the amount.Grocery Challenge 2024
