Evening all
DH went to Al*i with a list - and stuck to it :rotfl:
Spend of £16.64, mostly F & V, milk, cream and pack-up stuff for the week.
Should be okay for rest of week except will need some yoghurt later.
Hope you all have a money-saving Monday

Evening all ... great day out to the Panto and dinner afterwards.
Definitely not a NSD here that's for sure. However, I'll stay accountable and have a mere panic how on earth I'm going to budget for the next 14 days .... that's 2 whole weeks ... eeek. Mainly the energy and motivation to actually plan/cook rather than takeouts.

DH and I had the defrosted turkey/gravy/stuffing as DS said he would prefer sausages. Was lovely and DS and I had a slice of chocolate banana cake and ice cream for pud.
We are all so full no one has had any tea!
My plan to make peanut butter cookies turned into peanut butter and white choc blondies but I only had GF fibre flour mix, milk and orange chocolate leftover from Christmas and dark brown sugar so they ended up more brunette than blonde but taste delicious. First time I have made them and will make again.
Lunch provided at my meeting tomorrow and I will ask DH to defrost the last 2 portions of enchiladas for a late dinner.
I am going to try my best to spend as little as possible between now and the end of the month. I have remembered that DH has at least £8 on a nectar card which will cover, milk, bread and bananas and other bits we might need. I then will only have to cover DH RMs. I also pick up my GF prescription this week so will have plenty of flour mix for bread, pizza and baking.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Hi all,
Well, my shopping plans for Saturday went out the window due to pretty heavy snow. I had a knee op last year and am trying not to stress it too much.
I was pretty lucky in that a nice friend offered to stop at Sainsbury's for a few minutes en route to another friend's house for tea last night. I did a rather chaotic run around the store, Supermarket-sweep style, but managed to get all the essentials for the week.
I'm pretty pleased with myself today because I got loads of cooking done. I made butternut squash and sweet potato soup, chilli, and chicken and potato curry. I've made enough to see me through the week. I only hope that it keeps in the fridge, as I haven't got much room for it in the freezer!
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how the month is going. I might need to get some milk, bread and herbs this week, but apart from that I'm hopeful that I will manage to stay within budget this month!2025 goals

I did my meal plan last night and, fingers crossed, as long as I stick to the list I've made, we should have a relatively small shop this week - which will help keep us within budget for the month.

We had a takeaway on Friday.. DD1 & 2 fancied an Indian. I offered to make a chicken curry but they said they wanted something 'authentic'. They offered a contribution to the cost but we still forked out £20. It was nice though, the girls put candles on the table and we all sat down together and had a good laugh. In the end I thought it was money well spent at least we didn't eat out which is what they had wanted to do.

Mr m and aldeee done today. Got a couple of Ys meat buys in Mr m so have stashed them in the freezer. Plus my soya spread was on offer there so bought 3! Lol. Plus had a mini shop at Mr s on Saturday for milk and cheese.
Sig updated and have meal planned for the next 2 weeks and have all the main stuff in so with just over 40 left in budget for f n v and milk I'm v optomistic!x0 -
Had a NSD yesterday, hoping to have another today. I'm in the process or running the freezers down so I am going to try and keep groceries spends down to less than £400 this month but we will see. I sat down and looked at my spending last month, considering we went to my parents for Christmas dinner we must have spent £500+ on groceries and I bought very little extra to our normal shopping. It's really shocked me and I'm so determined to get it down. I feel so good that we're getting back into budgeting again, if a little frustrated we didn't do it earlier!GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100
