NSD here too. 11th one this month. I'm hoping to have at least 20 NSD, but I haven't set a goal for them for a while, so not sure if 20 is achievable.

Another NSD yesterday, then £38.80 in Sainsburys this morning for 17th-24th.

Total so far for January £290.90 leaving £29.10 for the remaining week - 25th-31st.

Shouldn't be too hard, meal plan is already done and I have most of the ingredients in. So will probably be just fresh stuff.
    November NSD's - 7
  • Just finished my final shop on January - my new month starts next Monday as that is OHs payday.

Gone over budget at £111.73/£100 but I am happy at that nonetheless. On Friday I went to Mr T and got lots of reduced items including 2 x 600g steak mince for £1.40, sliced gammon for 92p, various reduced breads, crumpets, spicy chicken pizza and a tin of shortbread that was down to 75p (from £4). All in the cost of the reduced stuff was £11.80. When we got home we totalled up what it would have cost at full price and it came in at around £44.

Shopping this morning was £13.83 which includes some food for the birds.

Our total would have been better if we had not spent on a takeaway and a couple of lunches from Greggs. Hoping to do even better next month.

I am away on holiday for a week next month so will have about 3 1/2 weeks of food at home. Not sure what t set the budget at - will try for around £80 - £85 and see how it goes.

Did veggie sausages, roast & mash pots and veggies for dinner today stretched it with Exra vegs as dd3 and her fiancee walked round in the snow. The boys had some yellow sticker chicken drumsticks in the fridge so they wanted those instead of sausages.

Got to sort a meal plan for the week, but hoping for some nsd's as we have enough in apart from maybe bread

  • A NSD here today.... then again Sunday normally is as I always do the shopping on a Saturday. I'm hoping for a few this week as I'm in London working Wed to Friday so any spends will be covered by expenses, so that's 3 days covered.

  • So a lot of diesel been used (but worth it, the reason I was driving paid off for my daughter, so very very excited!)

Been fairly good food shopping wise, set a strict budget (although did treat everyone to fish and chips when we got the good news on Friday but no regrets there!)

Currently at £243 (a rounded up figure) which we would normally have spent in 2 weeks on groceries alone! So pleased!

*Sigh* The plan for having a nsd went completely out of the window. I should have stuck to the mealplan, I really should. I wanted to do something more ... Sunday meal ... so decided to use the chicken thighs as a little roast type thing, with roast potatoes and veg. Only, there were only 2 chicken thighs when defrosted so I had to make some stuffing to boost it as a meal. Then I discovered I didn't have any green veg ... I should have stuck to the meal plan. Anyway, I popped to the local (shop) and picked up a pack of chicken drumsticks to make it a bigger meal and give me some cold cooked chicken for sandwiches, and a bag of steam-microwave-in-a-bag-thing veggies. Spent £3.69.

*headdesk* really must stick to mealplan!

  • I slipped behind a bit, but I've got my receipts! Normally I would have thrown them in the shredding pile by now. I've done 2 shops since my last update, for a total of 106.93, and should now have enough in the house to get to Saturday and the start of my next pay month. Fingers crossed!
