  • Popped in to update.
This week I have spent £37.52 in two separate shops, as I left it til today to top up fruit and bread. I bought some ready meals for DS3 and his gf for the weekend as I am going to visit DS1 and his family. Two meals out next week, one for family birthday and one for work but will use spending money to pay for these. So total spend is 105.29/160.00

On the downward slope now as I get paid on the last day of the month, and as this is a Sunday money will be in the bank on 29th.:j

I have lost track of NSDs this week, will start again from tomorrow.

I have made a meal plan for the rest of the month and have been to Mr T and have bought everything but the fruit/milk/bread and a couple of small ingredients like natural yogurt I will need next week.

I costed my shopping list out before I went and realised that my budget is not going to cover everything, close but not close enough. If DH wants more SW RM I will end up about £40 over my Jan budget and if he doesn't I will be £20 or so over.

I deliberately set my budget really low this month and even with the £40 overspend I would still be £90 under November's spend and £200 under December's :D

I have used up a lot of odds and sods in the freezer and most of the fresh meat but we still have a lot of veg and fruit left.

Tomorrow I am going to make a loaf of GF bread and a double chocolate and banana loaf and buy the tin foil I hadn't realised was so low! I might also make some peanut butter cookies ;)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

£18.82 spent in Aldi tonight so now on £202.23/£225.00. I am amazed at how carefully I shopped and it was enjoyable too! Only need the fewest of bits to keep me going until the 22nd so am very hopeful I will do it.I am truly amazed!
I am going to drop my monthly budget by a little bit every month to see how low I can go, my son is going travelling around Australia next Saturday so budget will be just for me and hubby for a few months.
    Have a fab weekend all.

    Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while (I was away for Christmas and work has been madly busy since), but I've been keeping a rough track of spends and I have £33 left until 26/01.

I'll do my last biggish shop of the month tomorrow, visiting either Ald! And Morrie or Tosco and Lidl, depending on which bus comes first. Main shop will be aldI or Liddl, with just a short YS look around one of the other two.

I've started meal planning over the past few weeks, and it is saving me quite a lot of cash. i am going to try to keep it up. I don't want to spend over £160 in any month this year, and I think planning will make me cut down on waste and make me eat better!

Good luck everyone - I hope 2016 is treating you all well!

£7.39 added to my total... And I forgot half of the stuff I needed so will go back to T's tomorrow :D
That's one of the reasons I always make and take a list ;)

    Had another NSD today.

We are out for dinner the morrow, as it's my birthday on Sunday, so I think the shopping can wait until Sunday and I'll 'persuade' DH to go if he will ;)

Hope you all have a super savvy Saturday

So far this month I have spent £83.12 on food and £26.70 on Splosh cleaning stuff and refills. Still meal planning as always and still have 2 freezers packed with food. My Tesco has a new display. If you shop with kids they can choose a free piece of fruit from the display. Saw on wee girl about 4 maybe quickly eating an apple so she could go back and get another before her mum finished her shopping. Did notice tho that her mum had no fruit or veg in her trolley. Very cold and icy up here and more snow due today. keep warm folks.:D
  • Managed another cheap weekly shop this morning - £16.84, and pleased with myself for not picking up any treats!

£57.76 spent so far this month, and with two shops remaining, I'm well ahead of my target of £135.00.

I've seen the fruit display in mine, they had oranges, pears and apples. Only trouble was the pears weren't ripe and that's what my son wanted to eat. Although I do usually shop alone or just with the baby in Aldee so wouldn't benefit that much from it. Need to buy baby's formula milk today so may wait until later and look to see if I can get any YS bargains whilst I'm there.
