Small shop in Mr M today as OH is home from hospital :T:T:T:T
I bought more bread flour, bread and milk in case of further snow (not had any here but I can see it on the hills) and a bar of fruit and nut for OH and myself tonight:j
Total spend so far £89.73/£200.
We are having pizza and garlic bread and coleslaw tonight !Now Mrs FrugalinShropshire:T Proud to be mortgage and debt free:j0 -
OH is finally listening to me and getting off those breakfast biscuits! he got the team nutritionist/sport science gurus to suggest some options and then last night we went shopping - he paid as he has taken it from some of his athlete funding (since he doesn't need any new equipment for a couple of months)
we each got a new lunchbox - I have a serious thing about nice lunchboxes and have a few. He just had the one (Aladdin bento - two round stacking containers) which are great for soup/salad/prepared fruit but not so good for ryvitas/sandwiches etc) so now he has a nice new sistema slimline quaddie and he got me one too - yay!
He also bought: sliced (cooked) chicken breast; we both use this and so much simpler to grab and go (defrosts by lunch) than keep cooking and slicing our own! spinach, bananas, yogurt, malt loaves, ryvita, philidelphia lightest, orange juice, apples, pears and more.
His new found morning appetite shouldn't effect the food budget too much though as I can change what I eat slightly which will see us both eating better and feeling better and should still save money!
Today he took: 4 ryvita with philidelphia on, a piece of homemade flapjack, a sliced apple, sliced pear, 250ml orange juice, 2 sliced of malt loaf. When I spoke to him after he was done at work he sounded more alert and happier and said he had more energy and felt better than usually. wins all round************************************

Today I bought some fruit for the week, OJ, jam, wraps, pizza cheese and a chicken for roast on Sunday. There was nothing on the YS front that we would eat or didn't have already in the freezer. So total so far this week £18.90.Books - the original virtual reality.

Only spent £39 in Ald! And am stocked up for the week and have meals planned, plenty of fruit and veg in still. Just have to persuade DS that 5 big meals a day are t necessary with the amount of snacks he eats!! I a have friends birthday do tomorrow so that will mean money spent that I hadn't bargained for, still I don't go out much and it will only be soft drinks for me. Will try and keep cost to a minimum, will take cash then I won't be tempted to go mad.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

Stopped for some fresh whole milk for the tiny one tonight. That's our 2nd spend of the month and will get us to the next delivery on the 20th if all goes to plan.
Happy Friday to those who have Mon-Fri routines!0 -
another NSD for me so up to 7 so far. I've spent £243.44 of my £420 budget so doing ok so far. I'm going to go up till the 27th as my weeks start on a thursday so it'll have been 4 weeks I've counted. Ideally I'd like to come in under £300 but we'll see as I'll have 2 top up shops and a main weekly shop to do in the next 12 days.
Will probably have a baking day tomorrow if the baby sleeps, as I've got apricot stilton to use( I found a recipe for scones I'm going to try) and the older boys have some minion biscuits to make and decorate.
I need to review the meal plan for the rest of the month as twice this week my boys have eaten the same foods for lunch and tea. They have free school meals and unfortunately I'd not realised. I've downloaded the lunch menus so I can see what foods are available on which days.Grocery Challenge 2024

Top up shop of £17.96 today, this will cover things for the weekend as well as breakfasts for next week. Tomorrow I'll give a fuller update with mealplan, etc, as I'll get time to sit down and plan! It's being a very busy week.
I'll update my sig now, and hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Just had quorn mince casserole with mash and dumplings all, UU foods.
The boys decided they wanted pasta and cheese, one wanted it with tuna, so there is enough casserole and mash for another meal for me and Dh.
Going shopping tomorrow but just for fruit veg and stuff we've run out of, still trying to life out of the stores as much as we can.SPC~12 ot 124
