Did my first grocery shop of the New Year today and it came to £42.49. It was an online order - some items were substituted, and one isn't suitable, so will request a refund and deduct that from my spend, once awarded. Annoyingly no dog biscuits were sent at all, so I will have to pick these up at the farm shop tomorrow when I get some more chicken corn.

DH treated us to a Chinese takeaway this evening, but that has come out of his spending money for the month, so I don't have to add it to my GC spend :T I have all meals planned until Sunday, so shouldn't need anything else until the following week, although the skids are here again this weekend, so that may be subject to change.

I've heard about the second purse before but not sure how it works. Could anyone kindly explain it please :o:)
I started three years ago with £100 bulk buy fund - you can see on my signature. Each month, if I have a spend at the butcher or spot something I use lots of on offer (such as Hz B Beans) then I use that. At the end of the month I put back any monies left over. It seems to have worked so far, fingers xd, as I have started 2016 with just over £100 back in ready for the year. HTH

.....The rest of the stuff seems okay, especially stuff in the fast freeze compartment, I think the freezer has worked overtime! I've thrown/using up anything that seems to have defrosted started to defrost. Do you think this is okay?

Sounds fine to me. My chest freezer went kaput last year and I had the same problem as it wasn't noticed straight away. The things that were still frozen were squeezed into my little up-right, a few things were cooked and the rest, mainly such as ice-cream and veggies were binned.

Went to Al*i today for weekly stuff and gave them £29.23.

My 'new-to-me' recipe for the fortnight is going to be ham and ?? soup as I bought a ham hock. Will have a browse of recipes the morrow and see what I fancy/can do with what I have in stock.

Hope you all have a money-saving Monday

    A £13.44 shop yesterday.

We had chilli for dinner last night, so I made extra and have frozen the rest for meals later this month. My son is back at school today, so I'll do another small shop on the way home. Knowing that I have to list my shopping total on here does make me think about what I'm buying, so hopefully this thread will keep me on track with my spending.:)

    Morning all
Will have to go shopping at some point to top up the salad and sarni filler for pack ups. Need to find out later what hours I'm working this week, I know I'm back tomorrow but not sure if it's full or part time.
Going to look through the fridge & freezer along with the recipie list and meal plan the rest of the week. That's where I went wrong last year not planning
