Dinner dilemma sorted!
Thanks to another thread on here, which was talking about Yorkshire puddings being a filler to make more of a meal, I decided to have the (quorn) sausage, mash, peas and gravy (that was meant for tomorrow) with a little addition.
Furthermore, and this might be of interest to some of you... I was looking for ways to make Y.Puds without loads of fat/oil, as I don't have much in atm... I learned today that if you have a stoneware dish you don't actually need oil! It only took a small cup of flour, the same cup of milk and 2 eggs to make a HUGE Y.Pud that served all four of us... no messy fat/oil and no need to even preheat the dish! And the result was amazing... it rose really well and wasn't at all greasy
Just waiting for my crumble to bake now, a tin of pears in juice, the last of the "must use" apples and the last of my flour, butter and caster sugar... served with a forgotten packet of custard mix that I found last week when I did my inventory! Fab!
I have to spend tomorrow as we need dog food... I'm also out of eggs and flour, which I can't live without... still happy with my 3 NSD'sDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -

I need to change my target to £60 for the month as I just noticed we are down to our last 2 toilet paper rolls so need to get some more and also I done a shop at the Chinese supermarket as I also noticed I had not enough curry paste left!
I have meal planned for the whole month and I have bought some extras that I need today.
Spends so far: £42.48 which leaves £17.52 for the rest of the month but all I need with that is fresh fruit and milk and toilet paper. Its a bit scary but I have enough food to last me that time!0 -
Another NSD today, helped hugely by the fact that it is pouring down outside and I'm still unable to drive with my shoulder. Will probably have to get some milk and bread tomorrow and will have to pay for the kids lunches too. Managed to avoid dh getting a takeaway by making a quick chilli with some mince that needed using up. Quite sad that the kids go back to school tomorrow - does anyone else feel the same? Most of my friends can't wait! :rotfl:GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100

Hi and a Happy New Year to all!
Sorry I've not had a chance to catch up with the December thread but hope you all did well. I am back in again for January so please put me down for £230.
So far this month I've had 3 no spend days - still eating up stuff that was bought for the new year but only for a couple more days I think. I will also need to stock up on some more winter supplies as I don't go out when it's snowing etc. I'm very much a fair weather shopper...

Did my 1st shop of the year today which means I have now got dinners at least up to and including Sunday and actually spent £30.00 on bits for my son for Oz and the total came to £60.96 so very pleased.
Take care all.0 -
Well, today was a scary day! I keep trying to convince myself that it's ok!!
Along with what felt like the whole of the town, we ended up doing The Big Shop today, and with so little in the cupboards after being away for a lot of Christmas, we ended up spending a fair bit. We also picked up lunchboxes etc for us both to pack lunches rather than buy them out, so in the long term it's an investment!
The breakdown is -
Tesco - £54.27
Morrisons - £14.02
Pets at Home (Dog food!) - £4.45
TOTAL: £72.74 - OUCH!!!!

NSD today. Made sausages into meatballs for dinner with a fresh sauce bought before Christmas and still in date stretched with some passata I had left over from making a SW curry for the freezer.
I have a piece of Brie left over from the small cheese board we bought at Christmas so I am going to use it up tomorrow and turn it into brie and bacon wrapped chicken breasts that they charge a fortune for in the supermarket ready made. Will serve with some HM herby potatoes and green beans that need using up.
I am WFH tomorrow and hoping to have enough time to rustle up a spicy butternut squash soup for the freezer for DH to have when I am away later in the week. I have defrosted some pittas to fill with tuna and salad for his lunch and will have the last 2 eggs for mine.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
