Weekly shop at SM done, including toiletries and packed lunch items for next weeks return to work ... and a fair amount of meat, although, even though I took a shopping list ... I still forgot chicken breasts. Sigh.

Although I'm going stir crazy I'm holding off going shopping until tomorrow.
My Mum wants to go to B&M so Aldi is opposite. DGD had found the last of the big bag of tortilla chips to eat with her wrap, and I ate a chicken salad using up what was lurking ( and the piece of chicken DGD didn't eat last night). Once upon a time it would have gone in the bin. But now I rescued it and sliced it, and it was plenty.
I have defrosted some beef burgers from Muscle Foods, but I will form them into meatballs and serve them with pasta tonight.
So it's still a NSD here.
Amazingly I haven't spent anything since 28th December. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Not a good start. The freezer door was left open. The freezer is in the garage so I've only just noticed. It's probably been open about 20 hours. The red warning light hadn't come on, the door was closed but not sealed, if you know what I mean. I've checked the contents and the ice cream has gone, two pies have partially defrosted, they will now used for tea. The chicken we were going to have, which is fresh, will now be frozen.
I'm making some mince into bolognese so it can be re frozen. The turkey mince will be made into burgers and eaten tomorrow.
I've got lots of defrosted bread so it will be sandwiches at work tomorrow, not my usual crispbread. The children like toast and are always hungry, so that's what they will be eating.
Not much lost and re doing my meal plan has helped minimise this.
The rest of the stuff seems okay, especially stuff in the fast freeze compartment, I think the freezer has worked overtime! I've thrown/using up anything that seems to have defrosted started to defrost. Do you think this is okay?

Weight loss challenge. At target weight.0 -
A quick spend of £3.53 on bread and milk. I am a meanie as I asked my girls to walk to Tescos (a 20 minute walk) instead of popping to our local shop to save money
. Never mind, at least they didn't get rained on.

Food shop done today. First half was in M&S to use up a voucher OH and I were given for Christmas. We rarely shop in M&S food so we spent some time going round deciding what to have and making comments like 'we could make that for half that price!!'. We finally bought some ready meals which will last most of this week, a cheesecake for pudding for a couple of nights and some reduced pastries. Needed to add 40p to the voucher.
Then off to Lidl for basics but also got some reduced Christmas cards and some Laundry detergent as well as stuff for lunches etc. Total shop incl the 40p added to the M&S voucher is £15.49p but need to buy chicken later in the week for the meal we are having on Fri (will add this on later).
Quite pleased so far with how this is going. Very glad I am doing this challenge again as it keeps me focussed.0 -

I've spent nothing yet on food but will shortly be doing a cupboard stock check and a meal planner.
I used to aim for a budget of £150pm for 2 adults and a 9 year old but now it's changed to 1 adult, a 9 year old and a small dog. :-)
Going to stick with the original budget and see how it goes.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debt
