Mumof2... well done for standing your ground and S's too... and no, he shouldn't have to go to an activity he doesn't enjoy.. is there anything else he would like to try instead?? He could try something a few times until he finds something he does enjoy.. The more you stand your ground the easier it will become.. you are both learning still and it is a new road and it will take time and patience.. ((hugs)) for you and big sticks for the BD.. Maybe we should paint him red and call him Clifford? :p xx

  • Morning all! It is amazing how some blue sky lifts the mood isn't it?

Spent 25 minutes on the PC this morning trying to sort out a new cooker for DD2 and OH. Despite repeated ads on TV claiming delivery up until Christmas Eve ao couldn't sort delivery until 28th December! After much searching of websites we got the cooker she wanted with free delivery and a reasonable price for installation at currys. The down side is I will have to be at her house for 7am next Thursday with a pack of sandwiches!

But on the bright side I can take some reading for the course that starts in January.

Today I must take my cards to the post - just local ones to write now. And then some massive tidying up, if I have the strength! good job I checked this post before hitting send I had initially written titying up - goodness only knows what that involves!

Thank you - S is doing running club now which he wasn't doing before. The problem is that J was a Scout right the way from when he was 5 or whatever and he sees it as a way of life. Now S doesn't want to do that but J can't seem to be able to let go of the idea of it. I think your idea about painting him red is a very good one!

You're lucky as it is grey and very rainy here - not a good day at all. Glad you've got the sunshine though.

  • I get that sometimes with hubby...he picks and chooses what to get involved sorting and it leaves me dizzy...I just take a deep breath and get on with it now.

Bedding going out on line in a min and clothes load going in. Writing a list of errands to do this afternoon....luckily hubby did furthest one away for me in car.

I have seen that before - where a child doesn't want to do something the parent adored. But he needs to accept that every person is different. Of mine DD1 went all the way through and loved both Brownies and Guides, DS did cubs till the end even though I had to switch packs because there seemed to be no control or leadership in the original one (and much swearing)!!!! DD2, however pretty much hated any form of organised activity and didn't stay long at Brownies. at one time I was seriously worried that she didn't do anything at all!

Hope it settles down, but you have to stand your ground! Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Ick, Piggers - any idea who it was that put them in your kitchen... Such a shame some of the stuff was new.

Definately not a blue sky here, it's grey and miserable here. There's even a fine mist in the air.. And not doing a lot for my mood..lol

I surpassed myself last night, in the 27 years that DH and I have been together he has never moved out of the bed during the night. Well last night he did... He said with my coughing and tossing and turning it got to 3am and he hadn't had any sleep at all. So he took himself, his pillows and the comforter downstairs to the sofa for the rest of the evening. Blimey it must have been bad for him, bless.. He has never ever done that before, I have but never him.. Even the puppy wasn't interested in curling up with me..lol

I have just updated my list and ards have cards received from the following:
    Barbara
    Fleur
    Jenny
    Mary
    Patricia
    Diana Neal
Also thank you for the little extras, you shouldn't have though. xxx

Flying wise haven't done anything except take my meds and decluttered a cup of tea.. I have to put some more christmas lights up indoors and then go through the ornaments box to see what I want to keep downstairs for decorating. I also have to bag up the meat that was bought yesterday, ready to freeze before it gets left too late. But I also have to sort out the freezers so that I have some room...

Hugs and spoons to everyone, and get well vibes to people suffering at the moment.
