WOOHOO IT IS :xmastree:.....DECEMBER..... :xmastree:

Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Bossy for last week's thread

There are 3 levels per day with Level 1 being very basic, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer![/COLOR]

Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!

CY make sure you flutter gently though. It must feel strange with your DD moving out with her boyfriend.
Piggers I think it's still this virus that I'm trying to shake off, one minute I have energy and the next I'm fast asleep on the sofa. This is it's 5th week and it's getting me down now, the cough is the worst thing of it all. Hopefully it will have gone by Christmas..

Oooh I love your skeins of wool by the way Piggers, the colours are gorgeous :D I may have to buy a couple off you after Christmas :D

Oh and I'm not happy not only did I miss the list last night but I also forgot to do my veg order from the farm..So no fruit and veg this week. Thank gods we have an overload of the stuff..I can run it down now before the Christmas delivery of fruit and veg comes on the 20th :D

    Thanks Natty :D

    Morning all.

I'm working today so I'm not even going to bother posting the kitchen list for now. Its a busy at home day normally but I want to get my window finished so I've done an hour on that while I waited for my delivery to arrive. I've been through my delivery to check its there so I've only got desk stuff to do, and that shouldn't take long thanks to staying up late last night;) Once thats done and I've been out to put calling cards through customers doors, I can get on with the window again until it's too dark which is normally about 4pm.

So my day looks like this:

    Work:
    Print calling cards
    Deliver calling cards
    Sort orders

    House:
Finish window as much as possible
    Wash up
    Tea in slowcooker preferably ????
Ironing (DD needs blouses for school)
Play with the dog lots while working
    Shop for more milk!
Wash load when DD is back from school

Right, I best get a move on
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • I'm in...sort of.

Youngest off school and I'm out 11:45 till 3:45 so hubby has him which means had to cancel car getting looked at till next Wednesday.

Had quick clean in kitchen and put washer on. Saving deep clean for when kids off so they can help lol

Thanks natty I'm sort of in. My abscess has flared up again so was trying to get hold of he dentist. Gave up, then oddly enough they called me as he's decided he wants to see me before the specialist (?) so I'm going at noon.

Day off but on conference call  eck I've a lot to do today.

I'm supposed to be traveling to Scotland tomorrow but need to check if the routes are open. Also need to check out parking.

So I'll probably not be around much until Thursday.

Right, I'll go brush my teeth again :o

  • Hello everyone, am in this week possibly slightly off list but here somewhere :)

Last week was a bit of a non starter flying wise and not much done til Thursday although nearly caught up with things by end of Friday including emergency baking of extra cakes for the school christmas fair (I felt so organised and happy to be able to open cupboards and find everything I needed, thanks flyladies).

Have spent morning sorting out of date newsletters and missives from school, old receipts and other bits from the notice board now in recycling so nicely organised again :) done kitchen & bathroom S&S and a quick tidy up all round.

Afternoon plan is sort and put away washing from airing cupboard, get ironing done, get load in dryer when WM is finished and do some meal planning, school run and sorting tea. Must also get rest of list for remaining christmas shopping done so can plan accordingly. Thankfully all main food shopping is done so don't need to think about that now.

    Right better get on.

Have a good afternoon all, hugs/sticks/spoons as needed.

    AFB

Done everything on the list and kitchen looks so much nicer - thanks Natty! Got a bit carried away and even washed out the kitchen bin and little caddy I use for compost (peelings etc); this was hard for me because of OCD but just tried to ignore what I was doing and think how nice it would look after. Both dogs were taken to the vets this morning so came out £60 worse off. Just going to put away clean washing and hang up next lot which consists of bedding so will be draped off every available shower rail/banister/airer etc - everything is so much easier in the summer isn't it.

Justforme it really does help doing a little bit every week doesn't it.

    AFB you're sounding very organised!

Bossy boo to abscesses, hope the dentist can make you more comfortable. When will you know if you'll actually be able to get to Scotland?

Nicki how's the window going? Got sunshine down here in Bristol so hope it's clear for you too.

Right, best sort this washing as it's not going to do itself.
