Component to HDMI

Oh God, sorry, I wrote LG meaning to then complete the rets after I'd checked, got distracted and pressed send. The model number is: HB965TZ.
Will look for RCA jacks - anything I'm looking for in a 'high quality' cable?
Thanks again0 -
Also - and this might sound a bit silly but there's not a huge amount of clearance behind the TV once it's on the wall - are there cables with right angles on (I'm sure I've seen HDMI cables with right angled heads).0

Do your HDMI devices not have a SCART socket as well as HDMI?0

£land stock a right angle adapter, to plug onto a HDMI cable.
Something like this.0 -
Thank you - I've had a look and a few of the HDMI cables are right angled - unfortunately the HDMI signal seems to be jiggered.
I'm going to work out how to put some pictures so maybe someone could just tell me exactly what to buy0 -
Fyi 'baking' means taking the board out of the TV anyway, so better to take it to any competent independent electronic repair shop who'll track down if it's a simple component failure without the inherent risks.
Common failure modes are blown/dry electrolytic capacitors or an underrated diode going pop. Both are cheap fixes compared with replacing a board. Ironically, baking a board, whilst it may help reseat a marginal component, won't be hot enough to reflow the solder and will greatly increase capacitor drying out risk, so any time it buys you might be borrowed!0 -
Unfortunately your home cinema system won't allow you to convert the HDMI input into component output.
This means you use the component cable from your home cinema to the TV and you will be able to watch your bluray/dvd stuff fine. You may have to manually adjust the resolution so that it matches the resolution of your TV, check the manual for how to do this.
However you will have to find another way to connect any other devices to the TV directly. The FireStick is the biggest problem, you would need some kind of HDMI to Component adapter or HDMI to VGA but if you want to have the audio through your speaker system the adapter must also provide a separate audio output. To hookup your computer just use the VGA connector and you'll need to connect the laptop audio to the home cinema. If your computer has an optical audio output use that, if it only has a stereo jack output you'd have to use a Jack to RCA cable.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Now I can't work out how to post pictures on here - I'm starting to have some sympathy for the people I give technical advice to
I wonder if I could stick the Firestick into the home cinema system? Thinking about it, I don't remember the last time I watched a DVD so I would like be able to stream everything (I suppose I could use the laptop for that).
So - I need some sort of double ended adaptor for component to component...I need to be slow walked through this!
I can talk about the intricacies of weights and measures and analytical equipment calibration but when it comes to car maintenance and TV/AV stuff I glaze over after a few seconds!
Thanks again for our help...so close to asking for vouchers towards a new TV for Christmas!0 -
Unless the picture is small, please DON'T post it in the thread - a link is better.
If you MUST post a picture ...

Any image needs to be hosted on a website, e.g. Photobucket or similar, and linked here.0 -
I'm thinking this might be useful for you:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ViewHD-Component-Converter-Support-Surround-Model-VHD-H2YVs/dp/B004F9XVBC
It only has two HDMI inputs, so one could be your firestick, the other your home cinema.
The only thing to check is the resolution, make sure the HDMI output resolutions are compatible with the input component resolutions because the unit says it does not scale for you.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
