woooo to job interview! fingers crossed! I am always slightly in debt to energy company this time of year and by the end of summer have a chunk of credit.... seems paying 10 over their recommendation last august seems to mean we are even over the year even with OH's terrible heating obsession (I swear its coming from SA were they don't have central heating its too much of a novelty haha)
Bank is looking tragic although most of that is car insurance so trying not to be too hard on myself. Add a dentist trip this month and I am crying out for the 21st which is my pay day!

My guilty pleasure shows are way worse.... due to a bad throat I spent a lot of Sunday on the sofa watching real housewives of orange county and loved every guilty minute!
    Debt: £14,000 now £2169
    Emergency Fund: 1000/ £1000

I remember due to some major c0(k ups with my last energy company we ended up being £350 in debt to them! We were paying over £150 each month as we weren't even on a nice cheap tariff and once that debt was clear I left them like a shot!

I am now with FL0W and have had no problems at all with them. If you like speedy customer service you won't get that, but they do answer within the time frame they say. I haven't ever had anything urgent to ask so haven't minded.
It did confuse my OH that I am called Flo and we are with FL0W so that when a meter man came round once and my OH answered the door he got very confused that the man was from Flo Energy.

    Also I have news.

    I GOT THE JOB!!!!

Ok, it is fixed term, and they aren't even sure how long it will be fix term, and it's still the same pay, and it's still a 3.5 hour commute in total each day BUT it is in Finance! Which is what I want.

This means that since I am doing self employed work for my friend's company all this week I have been unemployed for one day.

Makes a change from last year.

    HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

    :icotbaske:EasterBun:easter_ba:easter_os:easter:

I plan to get my bake on and do something with the easter eggs I have. Also I am inspired by the Marmite Easter Egg I have bought my OH and try to create some sort of marmite/chocolate hybrid thing. It sounds weird but I have seen recipes for things online and normally it is a salted caramel recipe that replaces the salt with marmite.

I may taste a bit of the boy's marmite easter egg first to see if it is actually a nice taste.

I don't have much to report. My money is very tight this month, and will be next month as well, so I will have to be careful.

    Life feels good.

If I am honest my anxiety is self sabotaging me and I am looking for reasons as to why my new dream job will go terribly. Why can't I just relax and be like 'Everything is coming up Flo' ?

I also have been googling why I have a weird pain in my leg/shin and it looks like it could be a stress fracture which I really hope it isn't, as that would mean giving up running and football for a while. I will have to go to the doctors on Tuesday and have it investigated.

I am sitting in front of the TV watching the march show of the Martin Lewis Money show on catch up, I have coffee, and easter eggs looking at me. Life is good.

    .

    Hi Florence

I too have had the same pain in my left shin for about a week. I convinced myself it was DVT  and the only running I do is to run to the kitchen for something to eat :o. I never thought of a stress fracture though. I should get mine checked too as it actually wakes me up in the morning and will start if I'm sitting for too long.

  • A stress fracture is a possibility but it's more likely to be shin splints if you're doing a fair bit of running, normally means you're over-pronated (or flat footed) - try some standard gel insoles with a bit of an arch support and see if it eases (not too expensive, I think my OH pays about £7-8 for a pair). If that works then in future try and buy trainers with some support in to stop you pronating when you run :)

Thank you both, it could easily be shin splints, I am a little confused as to what it is as it doesn't actually hurt in the morning or at night, or to move, and rarely when running but my shin bone on my left leg is extremely tender-I only have to lightly touch it to feel pain-and there is one particular spot that is very very sore and painful. To touch that is, but not to move?

I am flat footed, and just yesterday when I was talking about this pain my brother who was visiting (and is a marathon runner) said he noticed I had a very pronounced way of walking.

    I shall investigate on Tuesday.

    Hi everyone,

    I am in a situation.

I need money. I have not spent on a credit card, but as a result of being out of work temporarily, having my pay mixed up, deciding I had to see Queen Live and offer to pay back my OH the full cost of the tickets and hotel as he hates them whereas they are my favourite band in the whole wide world, basically writing a series of cheques I can't cash, plus my best friend's wedding which OH has paid ALL the cost for...well on top of the embarrassing huge amount of money I already owe him I now owe him £1000.

I need a part time job on top of my full time job.

I can't pay off my debts, save for Christmas (YES, I AM THINKING ABOUT IT ALREADY, WHEN YOU HAVE AS LITTLE MONEY AS ME YOU PLAN EVERY SINGLE EXPENSE AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS YOU CAN) and pay back my OH whilst having living costs.

I have seen a weekend (both sat and sun) finance job, just an extra 13.5 hours a week, and I have calculated (If I got the job) that I could pay back the debt in 19 weeks.

    My question is,

Do you think it is possible to go 20 weeks working every day?

Please remember with my commute to work I spend 60 hours out of the house Mon-Fri.

I have a good amount of holiday in my new job, and as I am not going on holiday in the foreseeable future, I can have the odd day off here and there during that time.

I hate owing money and I feel I should make the sacrifice, and I would do anything, ANYTHING, to see Queen Live. Queen have been my favourite band since I was 12. I never ever thought I would see them.

    BUT

I am prone to stress, I am prone to anxiety, I frequently miss football on thursdays because by then I am so knackered I need an early night.

I'll be frank, my personal hygiene levels take a complete nosedive during the week due to my lack of time. I have frequently said that Monday to Friday is about survival.

Plenty of people work everyday. Plenty of people have to work everyday and asking for advice on whether it is a good idea or not could be interpreted as being a 'First World Problem' but I am in a pickle. My OH hasn't exactly demanded the money back, but he did say on Thursday when I told him I had been dramatically underpaid at work due to the time out of work that i should consider a part time job.

He has been dead set against two jobs before that, so this is him in the nicest way possible saying 'Give me my money'

So I guess I'm not really asking if I should as I kinda have to, more 'HOW' do i do it?

If anyone has been in a similar situation before and can offer advice please do let me know.

    xx
