    That's the problem, as soon as he turns on the tablet the scam thing is there full screen, and he can't get to anything else.

    I think if he keeps it turned off for a while it might go off, if not, he'll have to get it looked at by a professional.

    A factory reset or would the Ransomware still be there.

    Right, he's just told me that it takes the whole of his home screen up. He can bring his keyboard up, but only to pay them. Look's like then there's nothing he can do, except to keep it turned off for a few days, and see if it goes away.
