mrcow: I guess a humidifier attachment for the machine would help with OH's dry nose, but not his eyes. I was told that if my eyes were getting dry, then the mask was quite possibly leaking into them. When it does leak it feels really cold and drying on my eyes and i notice right away, but it might be a very slight leak. I can only echo what the others are saying about going back to the sleep clinic to see what can be done about it, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Hope everyone is getting on well, will check in again tomorrow!

I'm going to get him to call them tomorrow anyway as he's still only wearing the thing or 2 1/2 hours or so as it becomes unbearable after that.

I've had a CPAP machine for 11 years now, I don't think I've spent a night without it except while flying to the States and back. It's made a tremendous difference.
Dry eyes are certainly either a leak or the outlet blowing into your eyes -- adjusting things should cure it.
I've used the Adams pillows that stick in your nose -- when I had a moustache -- and a mask that just goes over my nose which I have now. I tried a face mask but when the mask covers my face I breathe through my mouth and get a dry throat! Without my mouth covered, I never breath through it. Congestion can cause slight problems but I find if I relax that I can still breathe through my nose, or if it is really bad, nose drops.

Hi all how are you doing, we had a great holiday LO was a star and no trouble at all. A tip for everone if you do go on hol maybe take an extension cord or double plug so you can plug your buddie/CPAP in, in a hotel room /caravan or similar, the socket was right the way accross the room.
Was odd sleeping somewhere else but think that was just the usual strange bed thing rather than any probs with cpap.
Another thing that may be of interest to you. Depending on your Electricity supplier you might be able to register with them for extra help if there was a power cut ie-
By calling our Careline you can join our Priority Service Register. In the unlikely event of a power cut we’ll make sure your local network operator does their utmost to make sure your electricity supply does not go off and that they get your supply reconnected as a matter of urgency. Just a word of advice when travelling with your buddie/cpap. The pressure of the air can fluctuate depending on the altitude of where you are going. Its worth checking with the supplier before you travel as they can usually set the machine to accomodate the change in air pressure. The one i purchased was great as it automatically adjusted for me. Its worth checking though as it would really spoil your holiday if the machine did not function properly.

Thought you had all gone & left me:o Brenda & I had to go back several pages to find you!
So how is everyone doing with their new sleeping partners:eek: Brenda has the hump with me cuz I just cannot shift this fluey bug, so for a couple of months now it's been only one or two nights a week if I'm lucky. We have an appointment at the end of the month, & I'm bound to get a detention:rotfl:

This thing with the pressure being different, Natanddan; are you talking abroad, or as simple as north to south in GB? Must admit, I'd never thought of it.....

Still only averaging three hours a night.

He's not had a follow up appointment date as yet. So I've been nagging him to call them.

Will start nagging in earnest on Monday.

Sorry your not keeping too well. Have you tried using Brenda even though you have the flu I manage fine,in fact I probably breathe better with my mask on than without when I'm bunged up. You already have the bug's anyway, maybe not using your machine is making you run down iyswim.
mrcow 3 hr's is better than nothing hopefully if he gets an app at the hospital they can give him some more help.

How are we all? I've done a couple more nights, but know I'll be in trouble tomorrow.
I've got to share this with you, in hopes it will help you newbies persevere!
The first coule of times our pup saw me with Brenda, he did a double take & the look on his face was one of WTH? but now he tries to 'catch' the little streams of air coming through the vent holes in my mask & just wanders away again!
Hope you're all well, & catch up again soon. Best Wishes, BMFx
