It's been a while now...surprising just how quickly the time does go by:eek: ...so how are we all getting on with our buddies?

Brenda is in fine fettle after her recent MOT & I thought I was doing rather well weight-wise.....Then last week I saw the Sleep Clinic nurse as I was waiting for some rellies who were having an app in the hospital:( "I can tell you had a good christmas!" she says!!! So I guess I'll have to walk Pup a bit more----whether he likes it or not:D

It's taken forever and a day, but he's got a follow up appointment later this month where they are going to assess his progress with the machine.

Hopefully they will retest his apnoea then as well.......as we think it's improved immensely.

I just wish we'd discovered CPAP years ago. For our sakes as well as our children's.

    Hope your cold improves. :heartsmil

Thanks mrcow I'm on the mend . Know what you mean about discovering CPAP years ago I couldn't tell you how many times I'd told Dr's I was always tired. It was picked up by chance at the respiratory clinic I had to attend after almost dying after having my baby. It wasn't even picked up when I stayed in hospital around the time of her birth. Several times a nurse would run to wake me up to see if I was ok as my oxygen levels had dropped and set the alarms off on the machine thingy??? No idea why this did not set alarm bells ringing?
Anyway I'll keep my fingers X'd things go well at the clinic for your oh.

We're having probs of the poota kind & it's damned annoying:mad:

But I hope you are all getting along...I've been reading back & it sounds as tho the initial fear of looking & sounding like Darth Vader's gardener have been banished:D

Pleased to report that the waist is wasting away, albeit not as quickly as I'd like, but hey...I'm thankful for every small mercy these days:o

    Anyone else ready to update?

Haven't we been popular these past few weeks!

Personally I was surprised at just how many people are knowingly suffering, & now wonder how many there are who don't have a clue.

Makes me also wonder how many years of me telling the Doc I was continuously tired & them telling me I was depressed, is actually due to the Apneoa.

We got a letter from the hospital Saturday confirming that OH's sleep apnoea is completely under control now with the CPAP and he only scored 3 on the test. They've asked that he loses 3 stone and he may then not even need the machine.......big job, but I'm going to try and really keep him motivated. It's just knowing where to start. He's lost weight before but this time, he has to 100% keep it off. It's serious stuff as he's 38 now and I want him to have a healthy and happy future with us all.

We've been sorting out budget and stuff recently and have really made headway.....just need to turn the motivation around to real dieting as opposed to money dieting.

Anyone know a good liposuction surgeon? ;)

No they didn't check anything else. I think it was because he was quite positive about it all perhaps they didn't think it necessary. If he doesn't use the machine, the effect is dramatic and he's really overtired the next day.
