whoops! sorry for posting
yes I would prefer bacs to waiting for cheque to be sent out then waiting another 5 days for it to clear.0 -

I'm not but have been in previous years. only reason is because I carry very little cash these days. kinda good when DS stands in a shop telling me his hungry - code for i want chocolate. if I don't have cash he can't have it as the smaller shops don't want me paying by debit card because of the charges they get.
I might start a virtual one though for Jan. Where I can sweep pennies to my SP.0 -

I'm awake I have lights, the cleaner came and fixed my light bulbs earlier - who knew being able to see the keyboard was such a good idea.
Ok I am spreeing ... apparantly the lights hasn't affected my vision on the screen. Ah who cares! Nearly Crimbo.
talking about lights, we had a blackout in the whole street last night, 12.05 am and lights came back on 2.35am. I know beause DH woke me up to tell me to go and switch off living room light which he had left on when he came down in the dark to find food and while I was on the phone to powere company was demanding a torch :rotfl: told me to put my phone onto torch while I was on it! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Sugarplum634 wrote: »Spreeing again. Can I use your Freds next year to save over a year Aesop or does it have to be monthly? I was on the Save 12k in 2015 with my measly £3k but the amounts people save yearly on there (someone saved £92k!) frighten me senseless (and it's not very friendly). I mean who on earth can save £92k in a year??
£3K is not measly! it is brilliant when you take into account how expensive life is, even when we live frugally as possible! I do the £201x challenge, I did it last year and made it, and have struggled this year, I forgot to calculate a few months in the summer, and trying to make extra with barely no income is very hard! So I admire and :T you for saving £3K :T:A:beer:
how did they manage £92K? inheritance? house sale? shares? ppi :rotfl: bankcharges :rotfl::rotfl:
must pop over and have a read
go ahead, do your challenge on our Fred. It is ours and we can do what we like with it as long as we attempt to make our monthly challenge too.
stick it in your signature like me, so we can cheer you on :T:beer:0 -
Fair enough Lexbubbles, can't work out another way for you to make a profit on amazon then, but maybe someone can think of something and inspire us all .
oh and welcome to the Fred Kantakarus Mare, feel free to come and sit down for a chin wag with us at any time, and share any ideas you have on moneymaking, etc. or just life in general
I am off to bed, leaving you all with just 310 posts to make before end of December :rotfl:
oh and before I disappear in case we have another power cut, I was clearing out my unread emails today. it is because my son loves reading my phone while I am, I have to be careful what he sees , so he said "why do you have 25,578 black emails Mamma"- black as in unread.....
so after a brief explaination, I thought it was a good idea to have a tidy inbox for January 2016. So gone are all the unread emails and I will strive to stay on top of it and keep my inbox clean an read.
It was quite interesting working through and deleting, how many different schemes i have used over the years and how they have all gone.... coinks, spud points (loved those), the pig thing, I forget what it was called now, where you could earn ridiculous number of points to cash out quickly. some phone apps like qustodian, jam, etc. and how they made us money.
sigh..... all these sites that make us money and probably owners more, before they all disappear into the ether.0 -
lexbubbles wrote: »@CBC - I would ordinarily use first class, yes. Not sent anything yet - I'm looking into listing. I however do not own a single book that would be able to go as a large letter so mine would never ever ever 'even itself out' in that way.
I wouldn't mind (well, I'd mind less) if we actually got the entire postage fee but you don't, because they charge fees on that too. What you actually get of postal credit is closer to £2.30 - amazon take a larger postage cut than ebay even - so you're still funding a large chunk of postage yourself at second class. I'm literally being left with less than the postage fee because they want to take more than you sell the item for in fees. At least eBay is only 10% - amazon is 15% PLUS 99p per item.
If they didn't take anything from postage and gave you the full £2.80 (we can but dream) then the 15% + 99p means that any item priced £1.17 or below is completely taken in fees. (£1.17 nets you precisely half a penny)
Thanks for that Lb - I WAS going to do Amaripoff listings - but I think I'll have to think about it now !
I don't understand how all those 1p listings can possibly be worthwhile tho'0 -
2 surveys to do for Edigital. In holiday mode but will forge through as I'm determined that 2016 will be the year of the savings!
Nothing else to report as yet!MSE-ing since 20070 -
i thought I would pop in and say hello. I'm taking a break from the challenge this month but I've been getting into gear for a good start to 2016:
- Made sure all my 2015 work expenses have been submitted, as today is my last day at work this year
- Registered for as many Sainsburys nectar card extra points thingys as I can, as I have been tasked with buying the Christmas shopping tomorrow (I am going to mum's for Christmas but she's just had an op so this year I will be doing all the work!)
- Opened a new bank account paying more interest, and worked out a plan to maximise the interest
- Packaged up my last 2 boxes of unwanted books/CDs to go to Ziffit and WeBuyBooks :T The remainder are going to Oxfam and will earn me a few nectar points via Tag Your Bag. (I've made 300 points this year which I think means Oxfam have raised £150 from my donations which is cool)
- Sent in claims for 2 delayed train journeys last week
- And.... drumroll please.... I have just won a huge 10p on Topcashback :rotfl:
I'll not be here now until the New Year so may I wish you all a happy Christmas and thank you for your company on this fred over the last few months :xmassign::xmastree::snow_grin:santa2::grouphug:0 -
