Just had an email today from populus surveys to say I have reached £50 and will get a cheque within the next 2 or 3 weeks. They are my best survey site as that will be £200 this year.
I make my money with fleabay, surveys, swagbucks and using couponsJan £10 a day £326.75/£3100 -
Well I've only just started
but ............
I've bagged up a load of loose change that was hanging around the house
Cashed in rewards from credit cards
cashed in quidco & topcashback - wondering if I should pick just one of them to use rather than both?
mostly cash in for amazon vouchers as I use amazon quite a bit.
looking at cashing in books/old games etc hanging around and I really need to get selling a few bits on eBay
one step at a time I guess!
Got a few bits I'll be sending to our local food bank charity, new children games & new bedding. I know I could eBay/car boot it but the charity really works wonders in the local community so I'd rather they found a home where they were desperately needed rather than earn a couple of quid on eBay etc.
Totally shocked to manage £150 last month so I think there are real savings to be made once you start looking for them - fingers crossed for this month!£10 a day Dec total = £203.17/310
£10 a day Nov total = £150
Grand total ready for our little adventure £353.17 :T0 -
£0.99 fleabay
Currently *trying* to talk to Amazon about the item that was 'guaranteed' to arrive today and hasn't. Keep getting "it's out for delivery so will arrive today" because they're in a wildly different timezone and don't realise it's already 9:40pm and the driver's gone home.
Last rep disconnected mid conversation and I've been in the queue trying to get back in for 15 mins :mad:Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

So my day one update after a fairly uneventful day is zero pounds! However, I spent a large chunk of the afternoon chasing up payments that should have arrived last week plus updating my spreadsheet for 2016!
I arranged to sell an old iPhone 5 and listed a few things on eBay too.
My December plan includes ebaying the heck out of everything that's not nailed down, mystery shopping (although the money I get in December will be for jobs I did in November, but I'll carry on doing as many visits as I can to boost January's challenge figures!) and I might just get my incentive payout from switching bank accounts!
So although I'm ending day one with zero extra income, the seeds have been sown.....0 -
Update on the amazon saga:
Apparently there was some kind of technical issue with the courier so my heated throw (I'm so cold and in so much pain right now I swear - I already sent back 2 defective ones). Asked to be compensated and was originally offered 30 day extension to my Prime but after I point out it doesn't expire until April (meaning the extension is a bit pointless right now) I was given £5 account balance.
Silver linings and all that.
Edit: that puts me at £85.42 for the dayAqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100

Hi all - I have been a hoarder for many years and now have a reduced income - so it's time to cash some of my "treasures" - this year I have sold 3 canoes - my spare rotovator, an Allen scythe, some boat fenders and in the spring I have a ride on lawnmower and a motor boat to go.
There is a lot of effort in selling cheap stuff on the bay and the fees and the effort in parcelling it up and traking to the PO - kill anything (imho) which I am going to make less than about £5 after fees - but I'm lucky as we have joined households, so have virtually a whole houselod of "spare stuff" to go.
In going through my garage I have come across some old stuff which I was going to just "Bin" - but sticking it on there, I have made over £50 each on one or two things I thought were worthless !
There was an old wardrobe I was given for firewood - but it was real wood and old - I got a tenner for it as someone wanted the wood sheets to cut on their scroll saw and make into "numbers and letters" for house names and numbers ! - Brilliant idea ! - If I come across another in dreadful condition, I may try adding value by doing the same myself and selling the individual letters and numbers in batches for the recipient to put into their own format !
We did not know what to buy each other for Xmas a couple of years ago so we pooled our money and bought a woodburner which fits into our standard fireplace - That has now paid for itself and is certified for use in smokeless zones - so all year I'm out with my bike and trailer and gleaning wood - so our heating bills have gone down to a level we can live with ( water heating only on gas ) Plus I've been making my own wine and beer for many years and now we only buy alcohol to drink as a special treat, but we don't go without !
There are two aspects to this "money making" - 1) - bring more in and 2) reduce outgoings. The beauty of this as well is that you get a lot of excercise in the process and fitness and weight control are both much enhanced !
growing your own veg is great - but not really cost effective if you take into account the time and effort you have to put in - Taste is far superior to what you can buy anywhere but to do it "right" is not easy and takes a LOT of effort.
Don't know if any of this will help anyone much but bear in mind that you have things other people want and it is up to you to get the best prices you can for them.0 -

The main thing I'm taking from this post is that you owned 3 canoes.
