Women who keep their married name YEARS after the divorce.

I'm actually a very sunny and laid-back person. You can't really judge a personality by what gets posted on here, you know.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

I can see that those who only buy one gift for Xmas/birthday would cause annoyance or who only bother with one or the other occasion not both. I can see why adding birthday wishes onto a Christmas card would grate.
I can't really see why including two cards for the different occcasions in one envelope would bear commenting on if I am honest.
I think posts on here are a reasonable indicator of how someone is in real life, unless the poster is consciously fabricating a persona.0 -
I'm starting to feel really paranoid about writing my cards. I heard a story yesterday about a child who was upset because the non blood relative (auntie instead of uncle) had written the tag on his birthday present. - thankfully my family are just grateful recipients.
I put birthday cards inside christmas cards too..
The child was upset or the parent was upset ?
Most kids wouldn't know different handwriting or think of a spouse as anything but another aunty or uncle.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I am divorced and kept my married name because I wanted to have the same name as my young children. I no longer see it as my ex husbands name, but the children's family name.
I also prefer it over my maiden name. A surname doesn't mean I am 'his' or that I still want to be with him. But it makes it easier for the children.0 -

I'm one, my birthday is quite soon!.
I've never minded doubled up cards, or Christmas wrapping paper etc. since I've been an adult. I don't have any desire to waste my energy on something so minor in the scheme of things. The only thing that slightly annoys me is that it's always prime 'work Christmas party' time so I can never get everybody organised for a decent night out until January.0 -

Probably a parent saying it was the child who said it - but I don't kniw for sure.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -

Speaking for myself.. I don't care how many cards are shoved in envelopes.. especially if a few crisp notes are in there too.. what does absolutely pee me right off is.. birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper... this I am utterly unreasonable about.. no one would wrap my partner July birthday presents in Christmas paper so what makes them think its ok just because I have the most rubbish birth date ever? .. AND 'this is for your birthday and Christmas.. why is it you chuffing great skintflint? you're just too tight to even buy a box of chocs for my birthday... if my birthday was any other time you'd get me this for Christmas and something else for my birthday...
And.. I have NEVER been to the pub or out for a meal on my birthday.. never, not once... it sucks

I thought I had tapped the wrong thread, the one about whether a family 'does' Christmas.
I'm an atheist, but some pretty lights and colour in the middle of winter are a real pleasure.
Back to thread, two of my friends who also taught kept their married names as that's what they were known as professionally. My sister, however, reverted to her maiden name.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Yes one present or card for both is wrong unless it really is a bigger gift than for one present.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
