How much do you owe them?

I think that I owe them around £5,600.00 but I am not completely sure because I have not been brave enough to call them and ask and I know that I am probably chancing my arm in asking them to accept such a low settlement amount but I think that I will try it anyway. :o:D

Sorry Sammy there was not but there is now barely anything at all left for me either which I am starting to think was maybe not such a good idea after all. ;):D It is just as well that I do not go out very much and do not have much of a social life anymore. :rotfl: I am now at my sister's house and I should really start to unpack but I just keep wandering around all of the rooms and looking at how big they all are and I am thinking that it is really nice here and that maybe I could live here quite happily after all. :D I was asked if I would like to meet up with her at lunch time to go for a run in the park which I very politely said no to because I just cannot think of any reason why anybody would or could possible get any enjoyment from running around in circles in the cold and rain. Instead I have decided to maybe just sit in front of the TV with chocolate and ice cream and watch Sky al day because I have forgotten what it feels like to have the ability to choose to do that. :D

Oh I just had to reply to this one! If you had said to me four weeks ago that I would enjoy running around the park in the wind and the rain, I would have wet myself laughing. ANd what am I doing now! Running four miles three times a week. Granted it hasn't been windy or raining but my sanity has been saved.

I have been running with two girls from work, one with a higher fitness level than me and one with a lower fitnes level. We have started jogging for two mins and walking for one min and can now manage an hour without too much effort. It really does blow the cobwebs away and de stress you. Try it, I am so glad I did. I have so much more energy now.

Glad you went to stay with your sister. I still think you should live there until your debts are paid off..

Ring Moorcroft today - I am pretty sure that they would accept what you have saved although I would only offer them 50% to start with.

    Enjoy your day!

I am still not completely convinced that running will be good for me but I am going to try it out today ans see how I get on with it because my sister says the same thing and she has also told me that exercise is very good for lifting people's mood so I really will not have anything to lose except for my pride because I am not very fit and she goes running every day and has kind of started a running club at her work and I will probably fall really far behind them very quickly and I will not be able to catch up and will look silly. :o I will also have to go and actually buy some clothes to do it in because I do not have any sports clothes with me and there is absolutely no chance that I will be able to fit into any of hers but I do know where the nearest Primark is so at least I will not have to spend too much. I am now going to go and call Moorcroft and am just hoping that they are having a special be nice to debtors day running today. :D

  • I called Moorcroft and offered them a 50% settlement offer and it sounded like the woman I was speaking to almost choked on her coffee when I said it to her. The answer was a definite no but it was not worded nearly as politely. I was told that the lowest that they would accept is £4,215.67 which is more than I have saved but if just do not eat for the rest of the month then I can afford it. :D

    20 questions time.....

    1. Did you go for a run?
    2. If you did, did you enjoy it?
    3. Did you find out how much you actually owe Moorcroft?
    4. If so, what is the £4k they want off you as a percentage.

Why don't you ring back tomorrow and say you ONLY have X amount of £'s and would they accept that. Tell them all your other creditors have accepted - its just them....

Phone them back up and blag it. Play dumb.

Say your sister has lent you £3,000 to pay it off! They might come back and say make it £4,000. You then come back to them an hour later and say she can lend you £3,500 but thats all you can borrow.

If they stumble you could try saying 'ok I'll speak to the other people I owe money to and have a think about it'. It may sway their arm! ;)

Thank you I still do not feel like I have really done very much yet apart from selling absolutely everything that is not actually nailed down and even when I did that I only did it because other people namely my sister encouraged me to do it. :o I wish I did feel guilty about been off of school sick but I do not and am actually starting to feel guilty about not feeling guilty if you know what I mean?
