  • I am just getting ready to go to work and face my second night of the second freshers week and I am really not looking forward to it at all because there seem to be far more of this lot and they seem to be so full of their own self importance and never seem to be able to miss an opportunity to broadcast just how clever they are and just how well they did in their A-levels and I just hope that I was never that rude or unpleasant when I was an undergraduate. I really do not think that I was because I think that my sister might have killed me if I ever bahaved like that towards anybody but I am worried just incase. :o I have managed to sell my guitar and I got a cheque for £1,000.00 for it which I have been told is a lot less than it is worth but I need the money to much to be waiting around for a better offer and I hope that it will now at least end up with somebody who actually appreciates it. :D

I am not very happy because I have just walked past the shop that I sold my guitar to and they have put it in the window on sale for a price of £1.449.95 which is a lot more than they paid me for it. I have been working very hard to reduce my huge amount of debt and have even been signed up by my sister to do mystery shopping and I have my first assignment tomorrow which involves food so not only will I be able to eat something that has been made in a shop for me but I will get the money for what I am buying and I will be paid for the trouble of actually eating it which is making me very excited and also making me think that maybe I need a better social life if this is all that it takes to impress me these days. :D I am now totally over my recent man hating phase and even went out on a date with someone which actually turned out to be a complete disaster but that is not really the point I went and I survived it and will do it again only next time maybe with somebody that I actually have anything at all to talk about with. :rotfl:

Hi Ciara, as far as I know the usual mark up on things is a third ,so you will only get two thirds of its' resale value if you sell to a trader. HTH

Sorry to anybody who reads this because I am sure that you will probably not even be slightly interested in this but I need to tell it to people who actually know about the situation that I am in. :o For the first time ever since I have been an adult with an income I have actually reached the end of a month and had money left in the bank that I have now transferred to a my debt clearing savings account so I just want to say thank you to all you very helpful and supportive people who have given me the advice and support that has actually got me to this position. :D Another pointless fact that I am also sharing with anybody who has the misfortune to cross my path is that my sister has told me that her and her husband are planning to make me an auntie in the near future and I am so excited by this and cannot wait for it to happen. :D

Oh Ciara that's great. You are going to be an auntie AND you have money left over at the end of the month. Things can (and will) only get better. Well done and keep up the good work. XX

Sorry my wrd choice was a bit poor earlier on and what I was trying to say is that they have decided to have children now but she is not actually pregnant yet or at least I do not think that she is because my brother in law has not been back in the country long enough yet. :o She has told me that they are first both going to stop drinking alcohol and start eating properly balanced meals which she has always done anyway and is probably why she always looks so good all of the time but the best bit is that my sister has decided eventually to stop smoking. :D I just cannot wait for the day she tells me though and thought that I would tell you all that I am expecting an announcement over the next few months and I am properly fit to burst with the excitement of it all. :D :rotfl: I am determined to be debt free for the christening though so I might just have to advertise my self on ebay. :rotfl:

Congrats on the good news!

Things seem to be looking pretty good! I cant wait to be an auntie although I think I will have a long wait! My brothers girlfriend is only 20.

It must be lovely not to be overdrawn at the end of the month, I cant wait for that to happen to me!

Thank you it really is a fabulous feeling to have money from last month left on payday and it will happen for you as well probably sooner than you think because it certainly did for me. :D But if I am being completely honest it has probably got more to do with not actually having much time free to even think about spending any money because I have been working so much lately. My sister is in her 30's and to be honest I never thought that she would have any children because she always seems to be so busy and doing so many things but I am so happy because I have never ever known a more kind and caring and loving person and have always thought that she would make the most amazing and fabulous mother ever. :D
