  • If anybody knows about any good hangover cures can you please let me know because I really think that I am dying here. :) I am still not much further forward on my search for information on my guitar so I am just going to have to find the time this week to take it to a music shop and ask them if they want to buy it off of me and I am hoping to get at least £50.00 for it. :D I have just sat and checked my bank account and although there is still nearly £10,000 of my sisters which she is has still not taken back I still seem to have more money than I should have and it is really confusing me.

I am so desperate right now I might just try that. :D Please remind me never to go out drinking with people who would win golds every without even trying time if it was to be made an olympic sport. My sister actually did most of my shift for me yesterday by basically telling my boss that that was how it was going to be although he really did not need much persuading to work with her and she seems to have been very popular with the customers because I have been asked when she is next working.

  • Don't tell me you've still got hangover? :p
  • I do actually still have some of the remnants of one hanging around I think just to remind me that alcohol is bad and that I really should not drink. ;) It is freshers week at one of the local universities and this has meant lots of extra hours in the pub for me because it is so busy just now which sadly means that by the time that we have finished clearing up and I have managed to get home I have been working at least 16 hour days and I have really been having to work hard for my money in the pub just now because it is so busy. I have not managed to update anything at all even although I know I need to adjust my budget and other things because I am spending a lot less money than I used to do but I am struggling to manage to find the time to eat and sleep as well as working just now.:embarasse But since this should mean that I am earning more money for both this week and next which is the freshers week at the other university then it is not all bad. :D I have still got no further with my guitar but as a few of you told me IA knows about guitars I contacted her and she has been really helpful but I am just struggling with the fact that there are only 24 hours in the day just now. :)

  • Hi Ciarasdreams. I haven't posted in here before but my debt was similar to yours and I had less income. I contacted CCCS and they suggested a DMP but it would have taken 25 years to pay off, assuming no further debt was accrued of course. Bearing in mind that I would have retired by then and have spent my whole working life in debt (my fault, I know), CCCS agreed that insolvency would be a better option. I had a bit of a nightmare with the banks and couldn't get an account anywhere but by filling in the cashcard form at Barclays I do now have an account (the customer adviser had tried online and I was turned down - she then told me they don't check your credit status if you fill the form in - amazingly)

Other than that it has been extremely easy and as I have no assets at all, I will be discharged from bankruptcy in 6 months. I realise this will stay with me for a few years yet, but I no longer have any financial stress and as far as I'm concerned its the best thing I could have done.

Hope you find a way out too!
  • Oh my God I am so excited that I want to scream! :D I just received a PM from IA telling me to take the guitar to a specialist to sell it because it is worth anywhere between £500.00 and £1,500.00. :D :rotfl: I think I am so in shock that I do not even feel guilty anymore about passing my sister's work off as my own. :j

  • To be totally honest I am still not absolutely sure I think its maker is Bigsby and it is a Gretsch model with its own name which is Tennessee Rose if that is of any help to you? :D

Nice one Ciara! Been reading your diary for a while now - keep up the good work - having two jobs sucks but does pay the bills.
