that is great that you are planning on saving, although have a look on the savings boards here too for the best rates and accounts, banks aren't often the best source, but going onto internet accounts...i have a current account with a high street building society and an internet saving account from that, so i can check on line regularly and only keep money for bills etc in my current account and keep the rest in the high interest savings account..stops me spending and earns a good rate of interest. just got my annual interest statements in from my isas in the past weeks and it is wonderful to see the earnt interest!!!! you will grow to love saving!!!!!! are you going to finish your debt off this month??:D

Yes I am going to have finished paying completely everything off this month because even although I have got all of my payslips where I can see that I will definitely have enough money in the bank to do it I sadly have not received all of my wages yet and will not until the last working day of the month which I think is on Wednesday. I have never actually saved before and although this is probably sad beyond words I am actually getting very excited about starting to do it because to me it will mean that for the first time in years that I am actually totally in control of my life and I will be able to make well thought out decisions about important things rather than always having to automatically go for the most financially option for my circumstances which I really believe will feel amazing. :D

I am at work just now so I really should not be signed in here at all but my class are in a music lesson and the teacher always encourages me to leave probably due to my complete lack of musical ability so I have done so and left our lovely and far more competent Teaching Assistant in there in my place. :o :rotfl: I had to let you all know though that at 8.45 am I phoned the Student Loans Company and paid off my remaining outstanding amount which turned out to be an absolutely delightful experience. :D I will technically still not be debt free until Wednesday because I did not actually have enough money available in my account to cover my remaining outstanding amount but it must have been all that I have talked about for the last few days because yesterday afternoon my sister asked me that if she lent me the money to settle my bill today would I please stop talking to her about the Student Loans Company. :o  I had to think about it for a little while because although the idea of having it gone and paid off was lovely I was just not sure if it was really worth just transferring the debt from one source to another if you understand what I mean? But I am an impatient type of person so I caved in and said yes and accepted the loan purely on the understanding that it would be a short term loan and I would be paying it back and that it would in no circumstances at all be accepted as a gift. :D I borrowed £300.00 exactly and along with my other two wages I had just enough to settle the account so I have and it feels totally and utterly fantastic even although I quite literally do not have more than a few pence to my name until Wednesday. :o I got even better news from the Student Loans Company when I was speaking to them as well because I was told that the amount that I was paying was my total amount outstanding but did not include my contributions from this month because it apparently takes a while for the money to get to them from the tax office so at some point in the future I will actually be entitled to a refund of this months deductions. :j

Thank you very much although I am technically not completely debt free until Wednesday but the boyfriend is taking me out for dinner and a few drinks tonight to celebrate after I finish at the gallery because he is insistent that this is a monumental day and should be fully celebrated although I have tried to explain that what he classes as being really significant which is that by the time I am 30 my credit rating will have completely recovered and I can look at important things like home ownership is of no real interest to me because I am really scared of ever being in debt again. :o

  • Absolutely fantastic news...I would have thought it warrented a better phrase, but couldn't think of an appropriately Oscar Wildean one!
However, how about this one for your hols?
I always read my diary, one should have something interesting to read..don't you think?
    V appropriate in this instance.
    Well done. Bob xx

Unfortunately I think that reading my diary while on holiday might actually drive people to drink though. :o :rotfl:

I am so excited about going on this holiday now and I just cannot wait for it because it will be the first ever completely stress free and relaxing holiday that I have ever had in my adult life. :D I am also looking forward to being able to have alcohol at whatever time of the day that I feel like it and not have to worry about being in a fit state for work which will probably end up with me having a cheap bottle of wine with my breakfast on more than one occasion. :o :rotfl:
