I am sorry for not updating over the last few days but everything has been so hectic and I have been completely run off of my feet. :o We have another show at the gallery this weekend and nothing seems to be going right with it at all so far but we are hoping that things will eventually start to fall into place and it is all going to start going right. I have done a few extra bar shifts at the hotel as well and not just doing the function bars like I am supposed to be doing which is good in a way because it is extra money that I really do need but I am totally exhausted as a result of it but at my age I think that I am maybe just a little bit too old for having my sister tell my boss that he is giving me too much work like she is threatening to do without me actually dying of embarassment. :o I have got tonight off which is a total relief and I think that I am going to do absolutely nothing at all with it. :D Well maybe I will actually spend some quality time with boyfriend before he actually forgets what I look like because I have missed him over the last few days and phonecalls while I am working are just not the same and they are not good enough. :o

I got the loveliest surprise this evening when I got home because my sister had filled up the big bathroom with scented candles and fresh flowers and bought the whole range of my most favourite Crabtree and Evelyn bath products and had a bath already run and waiting for me along with big fluffy towels. :D She had also decorated the dining room beautifully so that it looked like a really romantic Italian restaurant and had made and served dinner for my boyfriend and me which was absolutely gorgeous. :D He is in the shower just now getting ready for the cocktail bar that is premixed and ready and waiting for us in the fridge.

I feel absolutely terrible now and in a way really guilty because I was left a voicemail asking if I could work a bar shift tonight and maybe do some silver service as well because they are really short of staff for a big function and I am going to have to say no. There is absolutely no way that I could do the silver service because I just do not have the vaguest idea of how to but I am going to have to say no to the bar work as well because I am needed at the gallery tonight to go over all the final details like the catalogues and the catering arrangements and stuff like that for the show and I know that I have to prioritise this above anything else. I just wish that I was able to do both though because I really hate feeling like I am letting anybody down. I am dreading calling back to say that I cannot work and really do not want to do it at all.

I wouldn't worry he knows you are keen to work and have other commitments:cool: It was also my son's birthday yesterday so made another cake- must be on a roll:D Had a nice tea, but still mad at mr. Bob:mad: . Had new doors fitted and kitchen unit fixed after flood, so am down about £800, could have done without that, but all other work is carried out by insurance and the joiner was a pleasant chap- which makes a change as some of them can be wide boys IYKWIM. Have a good evening tonight. Bobx

With all of the cakes that you make you should turn it into a business because you would make a fortune. :D I am glad that everything went well for your sons birthday and that you all had a good time but I am sorry about Mr Bob annoying/upsetting you recently but unfortunately I cannot offer any sensible solutions mostly due to my not so good relationship history. :rotfl: Thankfully I have absolutely no experience of dealing with tradespeople on account of never having earned enough to get a mortgage on anything more than a decent four man tent so I have never had to deal with any kind of repairs that did not involve calling my sister to come and fix it. :rotfl: I ended up being a complete coward and could not bring myself to turn down the bar shift because the manager sounded so pleading and desperate and I am a completely pathetic pushover when people turn on the emotions. :o I did however tell him that I could only come in once all of the important gallery stuff had been sorted out because the deadlines were non negotiable and I also stressed the fact that there was absolutely no way on earth that I could do the silver service thing without causing any injury to the customers. :D :rotfl: I ended up finishing at the gallery just after seven but I have to go back in this morning to sign for a few deliveries and I ran all the way to the hotel to get there just before 7.15 pm which was really good because the function did not actually start until 7.30 pm and I am eternally greatful to my sister for making me take up running which although is definitely very good for stress relief is actually even better for getting places very quickly when you cannot get a cab. :D I started in school yesterday just before 8.00 am and worked right through with only a 10 minute break between finishing my day and starting at the gallery where I again worked straight through with just over a 10 minute break before starting in the bar where I worked right through until just after 1.30 am and I know that I should be really exhausted but I am just not at all and I am totally full of energy this morning. :D I loved working at the gallery and really enjoyed the whole rush feeling of making sure that everything is going to turn out ok in the end but I also enjoyed the bar because even although I was working really really hard to the point where another me would have been really helpful it was a really good shift with lots of laughs and lots of fun and did not really feel like work at all. :D

I know what you mean about trying to split yourself between various commitments and not wanting to say "no".

BUT.....why have you still got energy left? Not fair! I want some of it to help me through my manic days :rotfl:

I really do not know why I have any energy at all left because I am usually the first to colapse in an exhausted heep at the first sign of exertion but not this time because I for some reason woke up with the sunlight this morning which was a lot earlier than it really should be happening in a decent and civilised world and I have been full of energy and smiles ever since. :D :rotfl:

  • Holy moly, I think you have enough energy for three and i thought i was on a roll:rotfl: All i can say is how impressed i am :D
I think you should talk to Donner kebab, she is running as well, and in a similar situation, and has met Sir Martin- the lucky so and so:rotfl:
Well i am glad you went to the bar, it just goes to show that sometimes these nights turn out to be the best ones:T
How is your:A of a sister? I hope that as ever she is keeping your spirits high whilst looking after herself.
Cakes have been well appreciated so that is a worry off my mind:o The christening one went well and have been assured by all and sundry that son's birthday one was good.
Hope the rest of the weekend is as productive:D

It really was a fabulous night even although I was scared to work at it at first because it was a big retirement party for some senior man from an accountancy firm and I just had this overwhelming and admitedly irrational fear that a group of accountants would somehow be able to smell my financial ineptitude off of me and lecture me on my inadequacy with money. :o This as you can imagine just did not happen. :D They were a really friendly bunch and I made lots of tips which will all go to my debt fund but I was told to take them home at the end of the shift and not leave them behind or I would never see it again. I am now getting really into the whole running thing especially since it seems to mean that I can absolutely pig out regularly and still manage to lose weight which is wonderful. :D My sister is really not well at all but is decidedly keeping up the pretence that everything is great and she has no problems at all and is still constantly smiling and running about after everybody like she always does even although I know that she is a bit down because her husband is away yet again. She is insisting that she is now showing but to the rest of us she maybe looks like she could do with maybe doing a few sit ups to trim up a bit. :rotfl: I have sorted all of the gallery things this morning and have had a great laugh with the caterer when trying to confirm that they were going to provide a few vegan options as requested. :rotfl: I also managed to match three numbers and two stars in the euromillions last night which I think will give me about £50.00 which is not quite the millions that I was hoping for but at least it is a step in the right direction. :rotfl:

  • Am totally envious of the running, and i am with hypno and will join the lardy walkers club instead, maybe work up to a bit of a shuffle by the end of the year.
Glad to hear of everything going on - really brightens my day.
Hope sister is feeling better soon. Mmmm lots of tips to throw at debt, these accountants must be made of money!
