My name is for reasons beyond explanation! I used to be on here under a different name but wanted one less recognisable this time!

:rotfl: The only cunning plan I have is to stay out of debt!!
Although I never used to post all that often, I have picked up so much from this forum about how to save money, not spend as much, pick up bargains, etc.
Just been reading some of Conrad's comments on the "not many men here are there" thread. What an @rse. I can't even be bothered to reply to him directly - but if he were to read any of the threads on here he'd see that amongst all the "fluffy" stuff there are loads of people giving excellent advice about how to get out of debt and stay out of debt ... grrr he's made me sooo angry!:mad:LBM 1: May 06 - £16,900  . It was absolutely fabulous going shopping with my sister because she always seems to find the bargains absolutely everywhere and she is totally unashamed about doing it either. It has been a lifelong thing with her though and she even had the same approach to her wedding where she bought a basic off the peg dress from a high street range for under £100.00 and did some alterations by herself to make it exactly how she wanted it all because she could not see the logic in spending lots of money on a dress that she would only ever wear once for a few hours and not actually because she had a strict budget to stick to.

I have copied post 1295 for you which was in answer to a similar question from another poster pfpf because it is probably the most clear description of how I have lowered my debts that I will ever be able to write with the added advantage that it also cuts out 70 pages of whingeing and moaning and self pitying emotional outpourings. The only thing not included below is how I actually moved to Scotland when I moved in with my sister and did not relocate to the other side of town. :rotfl: If any of it does not make sense please just let me know and I will attempt to clarify what I am saying.
It is really not all that impressive when you know all the details sadly and was really very little of my own doing because from the early days my sister has bullied me into doing everything that has led to this.I have sold absolutely everything that I own as well as many things belonging to my sister and brother in law as well that was not nailed down and I sold my car and now drive one that was donated by my sister. I now freeload completely by livivng completely overhead free at my sister's home which leaves nearly my entire wage to pay towards debts as well as my wage from my second job which my sister's friend gave me when I moved up here. I do mystery shopping as well and I have got the deposit back on my old flat as well as a small additional amount from the landlord for leaving behind my furniture and kitchen items that I did not need any more anyway. I also had some money from playing in a casino as well. Like I said it is sadly really not that impressive and has resulted in no real hardship or suffering for me.
