  • ..maybe but then was he not make believe? I can just not quite picture myself in a DIY store talking about sizes and weights and types of wood that would be most suited to my project let alone the best way to cut it and what type of joints to make in it let alone what on earth I would use to hold it all together. :o However this is just going to have to be my year for learning and then my mother might might finally accept that I am beyond saving. :rotfl:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I was beyond saving years ago:D I hate those chaps in the DIY store, they look down on us women. Shall i tell you something naughty? Oh go on then i will. I was in overalls about three months ago, looking for some stuff for my cistern- i know yes i have to do plumbing as well:confused: Anyway another chap in the queue was a bit rude to me and quite suggestive. In the end because i wasnt taking me on called me a d***e, It was like a red rag to a bull. I kicked off good style, and ended up by saying being around him was enough to put women off men for life and turn them into d***es. Then i couldn't stop laughing at him, because his face kept getting redder as he tried hurling more insults- at this point i was red from laughing as well:mad: picture of me laughing- or was it growling, the poor lad behind the counter didn't know where to put himself. Others joined in as well and the fine specimen that is Northern man went elsewhere, muttering to himself- he wouldn't have been served anyway as my best friends hubby works in there and was about to chuck him out, but reckoned i could handle myself anyway. cheered me up all afternoon that did.:D

  • I am having a real issue at the moment and I think that I might very well be on the verge of saying something that will get me banned from this site which I really do not want to happen. Is it possible to take money saving too seriously? I am only asking this because I really need to buy new clothes and it not just that I want to but I really do need to because like I mentioned before I have lost weight and my older things are just too big now but I am finding it almost impossible to justify this need to myself and so I have been unable to buy any. I keep thinking that my need to pay off my debt is a much greater priority and that I am really not entitled to buy anything for myself. Is this just me that feels like this or do others feel the same. Even if you do not please just lie to me and tell me that you do because I am getting worried about it. :o
look at it this way, use a percentage of your commision to buy clothes. Think of it as an investment for future commisions:D I know as a mother that i usually put myself on the bottom of the list for new stuff. I have vouchers for nice shops which i often end up spending on the children- I think its in our makeup:o

Hi Ciara, I had to respond to this even though I don't usually post on your thread. YES you do need to buy new clothes from time to time. Your main and second jobs both require you to look smart and professional. Feeling comfortable and appropriate in what you wear is good for your self esteem.
The MSE part comes when you turn into a bargain-seeking missile, searching both the high street and online for the very nicest clothes for the smallest amount of money. Have you looked through your sister's wardrobe?:D

I really do need them for my day job as well but I just do not seem capable of making myself buy any. :o I do not even have the excuse that I am doing it because I need to prioritise my children because I do not have any of my own but just borrow other peoples during the day for a few hours so I am starting to panic that maybe my mind has gone into meltdown or something like that. I really need a few more exhibitions where I manage to make the same amount of sales and then maybe I will eventually be able to convince myself that shopping is not actually a crime. :D

Not a crime- i AGREE, as tustastic says, make it a mission to get the best possible bargain. As for school, i use serviceable clothes as most school clothes stink of cabbage at the end of the day- or is it just the schools i work in:confused:

Thank you for posting I have looked through my sisters wardrobe but on account of her being a size six on a fat day looking is sadly all I can do without causing myself lots of possible injuries or embarassment. :o:D I know that I really do need to just go and spend some money on what I now see as a luxury item whether I like it or not because it really is essential but I know that I am going to feel really bad about doing it. :o

Oh dear I am in no way an expert on relationships in fact quite the opposite but did you suggest to her that interpersonal skills maybe had a lot to do with her less than happy personal life?

I thought a lot but I just listened!! You deserve new clothes, so your homework for this week is to go shopping. :p

I am determined to only buy the cheapest and the best for school because my sister pointed out to me in the summer that one of my former favourite shops was selling a skirt and short sleeved jacket which was exactly the same as one from a far cheaper shop except for the labels and the belt detail on the jacket for over ten times the price. The horrible irony being that less than a year before that point I would have turned my nose up and even refused to go into the cheaper shop which is maybe why she has always seemed to be able to make her money last forever. :o I have never noticed a school smell on my clothes before but I will do a poll on my way home tomorrow when I am meeting in a pub and see if others notice one off of me. :D
