Hi everyone, some fantastic savings figures flooding in this month - really brilliant to see so many people staying the course despite everything life tends to throw in our way!

Looking at our November expenses we've had the house insurance to renew plus quite an expensive weekend in Newcastle visiting no.1 son for his birthday. Have also booked a little winter break in the Canaries - but dirt cheap now that OH has switched jobs to something much more flexible - & we can book the cheapest flights as soon as they pop up.

So we're reporting £2330.70 - and with just 1 month to go we are still £2000 below target. That's probably slightly out of reach....but we'll be close so I'm happy!

34 months to FIRE. Happy saving everyone.

34 months to FIRE! Exciting stuff. I like it when you can start seeing the end of the tunnel!!

I agree that its nice to see people saving so well over the year! I think there will be a lot less motivation if I were to be doing this alone and more spending.. I will be meeting more like minded people in a local group later this month in London. All for more motivation!

Forgot some cash has been left in PayPal for a few weeks (all that lost interest) but no need to update this month's record as I should have spent it on house insurance anyway (ran out a couple weeks ago :x)
    Mortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
    Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)
  • Declaring £35.01 for October and £-1437.61 for November - used savings to pay for work on the bathroom and a quite frankly awesome holiday.
Total for year is £2089.96 / £6,000 (34.8%) with just December to go, so I'm definitely not going to hit the target but it's ok cos savings are there to be spent sooner or later, and I'm still in the black for the year!

I've been horribly bad at updating this year, but still plugging away with £1861.03 for October and £2436.08 for November, total £28,359.44 - i've already hit my £30k target in the first days of December, but a few things still to go until I know a final total :)

Morning all on this chilly December morning, number 11 here declaring savings of £2,563.54 for November, bringing my yearly total so far to £18,915.68. I am expecting December to be smaller but still positive. It would be nice to pass £20,000 but we'll see. Thanks Slowlyfading for all your help and support by running this thread this year. :)

No 140 signing in for November at £731, bringing me close to my target for the year!

December does have two weeks of holiday and Christmas expenses (!!) but all other outgoings should be lower so, with some consideration, I should be able to meet my year-end savings target.

There was some careful reining in this week as I didn't give in to my mid-afternoon coffee (which I know are far too expensive, but I am normally so weak...)
And I actually realised I slept better for it, so an added bonus :)

Good luck to all, and it is lovely to hear about the future plans that everyone has!

I am reporting £612 for November which is great as I had to pay the service charge on my flat and house insurance this month also. Was starting to doubt my new total but hopefully I'll still make it as I need less than £600 this month to hit target. I originally hoped to get to £6,000 so if I can make it to £9,000 I will be sooooooooooooooo chuffed with myself. :j:j:j

Got to be honest and say that this challenge has helped so much. Thanks to slowly fading for starting this and to everyone who posts for the inspiration :T

    £923 saved for October.

    HTB ISA - £200
    Sharesave - £223
    Saving Stream P2P - £500

Nationwide flex-account has just finished its 12month and the RS 12 month finishes soon. So need to move them both away, looking at BoS and Tesco accounts both @ 3% or a fixed income fund or more into P2P...

    Decisions, decisions!

Bumper month! Thanks to some overtime at work had a bit more money and have been trying harder to squirrel money away with my new P2P account!

    Declaring £860 for November,

    TSB - £207
    HTB ISA - £200
    Sharesave - £223
    Saving Stream P2P - £230

    Submitting to spreadsheet now. :D

This will take me £10,000 for the year, will see if I can somehow save a miraculous £2,000 in December to reach the £12k target. Fat chance of that with X-Mas! :rotfl:
