  • I've had a very expensive month, with car service/ MOT/insurance/tax, annual night school fees, a membership subscription, a weekend away for a wedding and tree surgery.

I'm reporting £500 on the assumption I will get a refund on something an will reconcile it all next month.

Phew, glad every month isn't like September!

  • I never have round numbers! Declaring £515.62 for September. On track for the £6k target, although we've just had an offer accepted on a house so it could be a very expensive next few months/years! :D

I'm afraid I have a -£300 - I got whacked with an £800+ bill, which had to come out of savings. I did manage to replace some of it, but still left a deficit. I doubt whether I will be able to make the 12,000, be lucky if I can make 10,000, but I'm mentally gonna try for £10,000 - would be pleased with that. Anyway £6,700 for end of September.
  • Hi folks :)

Everyone is doing so well and I can't believe we are moving into the final 3 months of 2016!

I had a good month of September and have managed to save £1635.50 which was boosted by selling at a car boot sale and some fb selling.

Declaring £1925.78 for September, for a total of just over £24k for 2106 - although i'm a bit ahead of the curve at the moment, October and November are a bit tight, but December should hopefully see me home to hit my target.

On a different note, there's another nice savings milestone for me this month too. Prompted by MSE, my new-year resolution in Jan 2014, just coming up to my 40th birthday, was to start looking at pension planning seriously - I've always contributed to a pension to the maximum DC employer match (2:1 up to 10% of salary) so I did have something in place, but never really thought hard about whether it was enough and running the numbers back in 2014 gave me a wake-up call. I opened up a SIPP to supplement my work pension and between work and SIPP this month marks £100k of pension contributions since my wake-up call 33 months ago. Still not quite where I'd really like to be yet, but on a good course and a few more years will start to put me in a place where I have some interesting options ahead :)

Afternoon all, declaring savings of £1,037.57 for September, bringing my yearly total so far to £17,210.20. :) Next month will be tricky - MOT time, not sure what my car is going to cost, plus a holiday. But we'll see. :)
