I've just updated for April. I am always among the later updaters because I get paid on the last working day of the month and then shift the remaining balance from the current account to the savings account and add it on to the regular saver. We also got a little bit braver and moved some super-safe BS cash-based savings to a S&S ISA. Not much but hopefully to improve my project learn about investing by trying some things.

Well done everyone, it looks good!

I can't believe how poor I am doing this year :(

£550 declared for April -> £1550 saved year to date.
Saving for a house deposit
  • £1110 total for April. 40.8% for the year so far.

Managed to get the car through it's MOT too, I just need to start saving for my car insurance due end of may.

I shall have to do some overtime if I want to be able to save a decent amount this coming month.

Why did you cancel your last share save? I have an option for my company one coming up and am in two minds about it...

Share price fell so much, that it was worth cancelling the original sharesave (thus losing a year) and starting a new one at a much lower option price.

Morning all! Today it's a lovely April morning out this way :) Number 11 in the challenge here reporting £2,192.10 for April, bringing my total to £9,010.71 - just over 60% of my target. I'm happy. :)

    Number 157 for April..

Was on for a targetted £700 saving, but decided to buy another car for £900.
Reason being when we eventually have a house I won't be able to just buy cars as and when I fancy.

Essentially, the car can be sold for the same, if not more, down the line as it was good deal. So just got money 'tied up in assests' at the moment. In my eyes..

So -£200 for me this month. Spreadsheet filled out.

    Making a total of £5,330

Ha, I just missed it. :D

Anyway, I am posting £808.06 this month but I am also having to reduce my (slightly ambitious) target to the regulation £12,000 as we are doing some work ion the house that is going to take up some of the savings. It shows the value of having those savings though in that we can do this without to much worry. :)
