Thank you slowlyfading, I hope your DS is OK now, you mentioned some illness. I am sure this will have affected your ability to save. I know my saving habits go completely out of the window when someone is ill. I hope things are better for you.

take care, we all appreciate your efforts :-)

Morning all! Today it's a lovely April morning out this way :) Number 11 in the challenge here reporting £2,192.10 for April, bringing my total to £9,010.71 - just over 60% of my target. I'm happy. :)

Wow to the progress and I have noticed some pretty amazing figures in your signature for ebay/amazon. May I ask what it is that you sell?

Declaring £127 for April - Had to fork out £600 to have the car fixed so not great this month. Slowly but surely planning to get there!!

Seeing so many amazing figures is motivating me! Would love to declare over £1000 for a month!

I have reduced my target from £15k to £12k for the year as my OH retires in October and we will be living on my much lower wages and his pension from November. Realistically there is no way we will be able to save at the same level as when we have two wages coming in.

However that is what we have been saving for - early retirement and we will have his substantial lump sum but I cannot really include that in our annual savings target as essentially it is just withdrawing from our pension savings pot.

Everyone seems to be doing really well with the saving. Some of the monthly figures are just staggering.

hi There Is a Light, thanks :) I had built up a pretty big book and dvd collection over the years and have sold off quite a few of them on Amazon. On eBay it's mainly odds and sods, some clothes, some shoes, some household stuff. Nothing has sold for big money but over time it has really added up. The idea is to declutter as well so it's a win-win. :) PS should add, I did start mid-last year - the figure in my signature is the sum of everything I have sold - not all of it has been included in this year's savings! It's a separate project. I did say that in my signature originally and should maybe do so again.

    Hi there.

Number 65 declaring for April. Managed to put by another £1000.00.

Not sure the rest of the year will be anything like as good re savings. I had two part time jobs but gave one up last week. Unfortunately it was the better paying job but it was driving me crazy and I'm feeling so much better now I don't have to face that unpleasant nonsense three days a week. Hopefully I will find a replacement but I don't expect that to be either easy or as well paid. My target's now looking a bit ambitious but I'll leave it as it is for now - more in hope than expectation but you never know.

Good luck and well done to everyone.

    Hola,
    Well done to the overachievers!
As anticipated I did not put anything away in April. If anything, I spent more than I thought I would due to a couple of unplanned Friday nights in central London.
BUT, I can feel the tide turning finally. So not in May as I owe some money to the taxman/bank and I will still end the month overdrawn but perhaps I can get started with the savings in June if I can control myself.
    Keep it up people!
