So although my total savings have dipped a bit this year, there's still plenty there and I'll be able to post a nice positive number for 2016 in a month or two.
Same here.
Since January we have saved over £6,000
But of the £6,000 we have £1,200 of it in the bank as we moved house in Feb and our house needs work so have spent the money on the house.
But I guess at least we are doing the work as we go along and not just putting it on a credit card or taking a loan out0 -

Ah i see what you mean. So you are saying you have savings, but you have been a net spender so far this year rather than a net saver? Negative savings so far this year? Looks grim but at least it's an honest picture. Go get em. Kill the Minute Sign.

Yep that's a good way of putting it - I'm a net spender, but only since January.
What is Kill the Minute Sign? I googled it but that didn't help!0 -

Finally updating again!
Managed to save £200 in April and £113.61 in May so far.
Finally got round to adding the interest I've earned this year to my total!
A bit disappointed with these amounts, but not expecting to be able to add any more during May.
Trying to keep in my mind that its a marathon not a sprint and at least its going up, but was hoping for a higher total by this point in the year!
The good news is that I have reached over £5000 saved total (including savings from the end of last year), so happy to reach that milestone overall.
Keep going all, thanks for the updatesSave £12K in 2019 #: £0.00 / £10,000 (0%)

Sorry for the very slow update, but for April I saved £1,014.28. I think this was due to Thomson's payout really, as well as my normal savings. I hadn't realised it was so high! I may double-check later...
However, May will be terrible for savings. I'm not having a holiday this year but I am going to a festival, which I'm treating like a holiday. I've worked more weekends than I've had off recently, and getting to the office earlier and leaving later, so I really need it. I hadn't budgeted for it as I didn't realise any of my friends would want to come with me so it was a very nice surprise. So it's going on the Amex (cashback of course) rather than coming out of savings (loss of interest) and I'll pay for it by not saving as much this month and next.
Happy saving all0 -

Sorry I haven't been about for a while but I was in an accident at the end of March and it's taken me longer than expected recuperating. Anyhow back on my feet now so I've updated the form Slowlyfading and managed to save £2000 in March and £2500 in April so back on track.
I'll need to read back and see how everyone is doing.25/11 – 24/12 NSDs 4/30
