#169 Declaring £987.52 for this month. It was annual bonus month so a nice little boost for my house deposit pot although this will probably even out a bit over the next couple of months as I have a few big bills coming in.:www:House Deposit £10,539.47 / £12,500:www:0

Just in case anyone's interested (some contributors did express some), I have restructured the way I invested this years' ISA (below).
I transferred the money I had put in two of the three funds:- (Artemis & Stewart) and ploughed that money into purchasing more BP shares.
I have also transferred money held in another ISA (2014) which I had invested in a Standard Life UK unconstrained fund (Ed Legget left it last year).
It was doing very well, but not since Leggett left.
I have ploughed that into B.P. shares as well now.
This means that I now have quite a large overall holding in BP, comparatively, all in an ISA wrapper.
Although I paid commission and stamp duty at purchase I am still up around £750.00 on this arrangement already.
My strategy is targeting even better medium to long term growth.
(BP's board intends to continue returning dividends of 7-8%, let alone any capital growth.)

I make that a total saving so far of £18,840.00.
If anyone's interested in how I invested my Shares ISA, I split my year's allowance five ways, pretty much equally.
I felt that I needed to diversify this year's allowance more than I have done previously.
I decided to be a lot more adventurous with it than I have been, based on my feelings of how things might go this year.
£6k in shares:-
£3k in B.P.
£3k in Royal Dutch Shell
9k in funds:-
£3k in Artemis Global Emerging Markets
£3k in Invesco Perpetual UK Growth, and
£3k in Stewart Investors Asia Pacific Leaders.
Hope this isn't considered advertising.
Wasn't my intention, just passive information.
I was disappointed to realise that the £20k ISA allowance doesn't happen until the next tax year.
Thought he meant 2016/17, when he said "next year" in his March'16 budget.
(DEMMIT!)
I started a business eighteen months ago and after a year of enforced poverty, have just started to take income (since January).
Am hoping this will allow me to make more use of my pension allowance later in the year.
I am reckoning on retiring in Feb'20 (at age 60), so my 25%+25% becomes more valuable the closer I get to the big day.2016 : Realised £103,000.00 savings (banked)
2017 : Realised £97,000.00 savings (banked)
2018 : Realised £ savings (banked)
20.4% avg annual portfolio growth since 2004.

Slowly Fading thank you for my number, I've now sent off four forms for my Jan-April savings for this year. I'd normally update mid-month but due to raiding my savings, I'll wait until the end of the month to declare May's, as that way my negative balance will be less negative once my SOs for the end of this week go in to three pots
I don't count Sealed Pot monies when I pot so will declare those whenever I break into my pot instead of on a monthly basis.SPC - #483 [banked £134.15] - :staradmin :staradmin gold stars from Sue-UU!

Hi everyone haven't really posted much on this thread. However I do read how folk are getting on.
I honestly didn't think I would make it this far, but have suprised myself.
Taking part has really shown me how much I was squandering on a regular basis with nothing to show for it!
To all those taking part.......
Keep up the good work!#009 :T0 -

I had forgotten to post updates for March, April and May but have now duly updated the spreadsheet:
March: £400
April: £450
May: £450
I had been hoping to increase those amounts but have had legal bills to pay for lately. Still, it is encouraging to see that I am so far on target for the year's total.

This month has been terrible so far for saving, I overspent last month so my initial amount was low and now I've had to replace a dilapidated fence
Currently standing at £(3) for the month.0 -
