Nice one. Now they will have to send you a final bill if they want their money. It will be interesting to see what date they put on it.i have just checked the on-line system and it is still showing that we have a credit of £200. The billing and account systems are not interlinked. I checked the on line system before reversing the DD payment.I will update with what happens this week.

Update: AVRO have queried the validity of the complaint and have requested the Ombudsman to close the matter before any investigation has been undertaken. I am unable to establish their reasons for this request.
"Avro Energy has queried your complaint as they claim to have agreed a resolution with you. It stated that you have not declined the offer and consider the matter resolved."
I have replied to the ombudsman stating that I have forwarded all correspondence; NO offer has been made and NO resolution has been reached. I have requested again for a ruling on the age of the debt.0 -

I switched to Avro last year. They were fairly easy to contact via online chat and the switchover was straightforward. Since then, Im finding theyre increasingly impossible to contact - the chat window never works, and they never respond to emails. They keep changing my direct debit every few months without warning. I'd like to know accurate annual usage figures so i can use comparison sites to move to another supplier as theyre increasingly becoming difficult to contact. What do people recomment? Just add in a rough monthly usage figure for comparison site?0

Can you not use the same annual consumption figures you used when you signed up with Avro?

Get an actual (not estimated) readings from as close as you can to a year ago, possibly the previous supplier or the readings when you changed supplier, and use them along with today's actual meter readings to work out your annual usage. It's easy with electricity and the formula for changing gas readings to kWh is on every Avro statement - don't worry about the varying CV figure as it will make next to no difference.Use those annual kWh figures for comparison. Take no notice of Avro's estimated annual usage for your gas as they never adjust it from the day you join them.
