I reckon Covid has had a bit to do with it but big house 4 people, my actual usage (in monetary terms) has been around 1300-1400 in previous years so with the big increase we've all just been hit with I'm not a million miles away.Consumerist said:onlyfoolsandparking said:Only a £15 debit after end of contract but my usage increased (currently 21000 Gas and 6500 Electric) and I reckon they've adjusted the new DD to suit. No complaints though and may even build a credit over the summer.Ah yes, you are now quite a high user.Is this a temporary, covid-19 related, increase or do you expect it to stay that way for the next year?0 -
I ran the So Energy data through my spreadsheet and unless I have missed something the result - for me - was goodish but not particularly competitive. I would be reluctant to switch to Pure Planet on account of the high exit fees. Bit of a disappointment.Consumerist said:I see from this week's Money Tips email that MSE are offering a couple of Big Energy Switch tariffs with So Energy and Pure Planet.
If one does decide to switch you get redirected to MSM web site to be signed up. If you use Chrome you will have difficulty in navigating the page [Edge is OK]. MSM were aware of this glitch several weeks ago.Telegraph Sam

Both have exit fees to be aware of.Consumerist said:Just a quick heads-upI see from this week's Money Tips email that MSE are offering a couple of Big Energy Switch tariffs with So Energy and Pure Planet.0 -
Without wanting to take this thread off topic, I just wanted to point these out as options for those looking to switch to or from Avro. The detail of the options should really, I think, be for another thread.

I am trying to leave Avro but they keep blocking the move at the last minute and don't make any attempt to inform me about it. First it was because the account was in debit. I immediately paid the full amount but they immediately blocked the move again saying that it was too soon. I am absolutely disgusted by their behaviour and the terrible communication. I will never have anything to do with them again.0

Then would be the time to request a switch.I agree that their customer service leaves quite a bit to be desired but you can register a complaint, first to Avro, then after 8 weeks you can refer it to the Energy Ombudsman. All very time-consuming, I know.

It says it'll cost me £110pa more than the Avro SuperPremier I'm on but my figures say £20. Checked the tariff MSE CEC has for me and it's Simple & Premier with no Simple & SuperPremier or SuperPremium listed so it looks like they're using the wrong figures.

Only works if they're using the right tariff to compare against. I'm sure SuperPremier was on the CEC list when I updated my details under 'Your current supply' but now I see it has me on the a Simple & Premier tariff with no SuperPremier or SuperPremium listed so it gives the wrong comparison results.Consumerist said:One of the reasons I continue to use CEC comparisons is that the "savings" are pretty genuine tariff-tariff comparisons over a full year in each - without using Ofgem-inspired exaggerations; providing your consumption estimates are close to actual consumption.

Surely before you try to make any switch you`d make sure your account is in credit.pablito said:I am trying to leave Avro but they keep blocking the move at the last minute and don't make any attempt to inform me about it. Seems Avro are within their rights under their T&C that you agreed to.0
