SORRY folks. My earlier post should have referred to the SuperPremier tariff. But the plan is just the same, whatever further confusion Avro introduces to its tariffs.
    . . . And, back in the room. :)

I quoted the referral code for an Octopus switch in an earlier post today without knowing that this was not allowed under the forum rules.  This should have been posted to the "Referrals Board" and it has been deleted. I am still trying to find how to get to the Referrals Board so that I can post the info legitimately. If anyone knows the "location" I would appreciate help in finding it. Tks
Select Referrers from Go to Category at top right hand corner of this page
  • Tks for the guidance to the Referrals Board which I have followed. It's Octopus Accounts not me that make the rules! If and how Amazon bends these is beyond me ..

  • For those with Avro currently, it seems as though tariffs are going rapidly one way at the moment ..up!
I was offered super premium but ummed and arred and then a few days later it was super premier and now it seems it’s gone to Switcher.
I got the premier which was a little more expensive but hey ho these are uncertain times. I am no expert but can see a trend here so dip your bread I say.
I have been very happy with Avro for a few years and agree with other posters who disagree with the poster who said to avoid .

It seems to me that people should try to manoeuver their contract end date towards the summer months.
Mid-winter where tariifs are coming out twice a week doesn`t seem to be the ideal time for renewing.

My quote from AVRO has literally doubled overnight from below £700 to over £1400.

Suspect they feel they have taken on enough customers fleeing BG to be going on with . .

This is what I did last July after previously renewing in the January. It's cost me an extra £2 per month for the past six months, but I'm now saving £12 per month versus their current renewal tariff.

I'm expecting that prices will likely be higher than my current tariff when I come to renew in July (but hopefully lower than now). However I also have a credit balance of £200 which, last time prices were this high, Avro used to reduced my direct debit by £15 per month for a year, so I saw no impact on my monthly outgoings.

I've been trying to see what tariffs are available through moneysupermarket.com but no matter which browser I use (Firefox, IE, MS Edge), the tick box to get all-of-market results is just not appearing so I can only select tariffs which they can switch.
Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

  • I have had a (scrolling) problem with accessing MSM when using Chrome but switching to Edge seems to have solved this.  Clicking on "Show me the widest range of tariffs" appears to have the desired result - but absolutely no mention of Avro in any of the 5 pages of rankings. One wonders who else is missing (e.g. Octopus Fixed 12m). I am beginning to lose faith certainly in basing a choice of supplier on any one search engine (as with taking the "savings" claims at face value)
Further: It used to be the case that you could get [£25] cashback in many instances by switching via the MSE website, but this now defaults to MSM.  One wonders if when doing this the cashback still applies.

Has anyone any evidence of different tariffs being offered by for example Avro to people based in the same locality but new and existing customers respectively?
    It's a  lottery.

Thanks for the info. I'm new to Edge, being a Firefox fan, so perhaps I need to play around with some settings - if I can find them.
I agree it's definitely a lottery. Thanks for this are due to the CMA and its tendencies to support businesses in favour of customers - all in the name of "competition" of course.
