Avro Energy reviews: Give your feedback

r.jenkins36 I take your point that the MSE tariff has exit fees but no other Avro tariffs do. I think this was down to MSE/Avro offering £30 cash back at the time.
With interest rates of less than 1% I doubt whether the interest loss on my £200 credit reducing over the winter will come to a £1. I accept that if the £200 was needed to pay off a credit card debt then the loss would be a lot more than a £1.0 -
Hi Mr Biggus
I'm beginning to think you make a very sound point and the cynic in me is wondering whether Mr Cranford works for AVRO.
I've learned a valuable lesson though and will do much more research. Sorry Martin Lewis - I am now somewhat suspicious that ‘CheapEnergyClub' is not what I thought!!!
...I also note from my latest CheapEnergyClub comparison that AVRO customer service is not rated as there hasn't been enough feedback. Really?? I seem to be able to find loads of feedback in this forum saying their customer service is rubbish! Is there a private agenda here??????????:mad:SlickRic0 -

It wasn't so long ago that Avro was getting good ratings on MSE because they were very competitive It has since emerged that their customer service left a lot to be desired and MSEers were complaining that Avro was overrated.
I think their MSE ratings counter was reset after the Avro ban on taking-on new customers was lifted.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

"Do we make money from this?"
“Some suppliers pay comparisons and collective schemes, so we give roughly half of this back as cashback - that's £25 for a dual-fuel switch and £12.50 for single fuel.
Much of the rest pays our data & switch suppliers, pays the team who work on this, and hopefully leaves some profit. “
He does say ‘some suppliers’ to be fair, and I’ve no idea whether that includes Avro;...however, if MSE didn’t make any £££’s from Avros “Simple & MSE Collective” tariff it makes their endorsement of said product all the more unfathomable, imho;
...on the face of it that tariff is a bit of a stinker.0 -
Wrong ! Simple and CTM Exclusive, Simple and GoSwitcher, Simple and eSelect are currently available tariffs that have exit fees of £25 or £30 per fuel.
I understand that a small fee (as above) may be in place to limit chopping and changing suppliers in and out of Avro as the admin of moving in and out must be a burden to Avro. The fee is small as most others charge more.
However, I wonder if Avro would charge a fee (if in that fee paying contract) if you moved within Avro?
I ask this, as I moved from their Simple and SuperSavvy taffif to their Simple and SuperSave tariff as it’s a lower cost (around £60 pa).
That change, was done by email and confirmed and moved in two working days as a brand now 12 month contract, even though my old contract was only renewed four months before and had 8 months left to run :-):j (and no fees)0 -

I doubt even Avro would be so lax as to give their ‘£60 exit fee’ customers such a simple, penalty free route to a new energy supplier.
Some Companies do allow internal ‘penalty free’ switches but it’s always(??) to another tariff that has similar exit fees attached.:(0 -

However, I certainly do know that a degree of caution should always be adopted when comparison sites, acting as intermediaries, recommend and promote energy products in which they have a vested financial interest,...regardless of how impartial and consumer-friendly said comparison site purports to be.0
