I have left Avro now as the price at the time wasn't the best.
I've had no complaints in my time with them, cheap and whenever a better deal was available they changed to the better tariff from the date I enquire about it.
Money was refunded as well once the swith was completed.
I would definitely use them again.
  • Avoid. Joined up for 1 year fix in a new house with average usage estimate. Despite regular readings they have not updated my direct debit even when I surpassed my annual estimate within 6 months. I have never received the advertised online monthly statement / bill and I can never get through on the phone. Now I owe them over £600 and they are preventing me leaving. By the way, I can't pay them what is owed as the website doesn't have that function yet and I can't get through on the phone.

batrachophagus, Did you try emailing them? This has worked for me recently with just 24 hrs between replies and replies on a Saturday. Why not try this, ask for your bills to go on line and suggest a DD payment plan that will pay off the arrears.
  • Been with Avro for a year with no problems, emailed a query and all was sorted within 4 hours.

Had a heads up email from MSE Cheap Energy club this evening that I could save £75 or more, so went looking. Cheapest were all small compainies with low feedback, but then I saw Avro with a tariff called Supersave, so decided to have a look. Logging on to my account I could not see it, so logged out and went to their home page and "Get A Quote". Entered mt postcode and address, it recognised me as an existing customer and easily allowed me to switch to the new cheaper tariff reducing my monthly DD by £10, and accepted a renewal date of 19/7/2019 whcih I'd chosen as my current monthly meter reading date is then. I already have the welcome pack confirming the new unit and standing charges, monthly DD and effective date! Just have to check if the DD for this month on 10th will be at old or new rate (or if DD date will change).

All done online in just a few minutes, once I tried going to their home page and Get A Quote rather than logging in to my account with them.

Interesting thanks for heads up... what unit rates and standing charges did you get with new tariff?

If you do a comparison on CEC you’ll (hopefully) see Avro’s current tariff ‘Simple and SuperSave’,...a click on ‘Tariff Information’ will show you the pertinent information;...the charges displayed (Standing & KWh) include VAT.

The specific ‘Simple and SuperSave’ tariff charges are dependent on your location (post-code). Regional 'tariff charge' differences are usually marginal;...but sometimes they can be very significant.

Just checked the welcome/renewal letter I got last evening, and the first payment at the £10pm lower rate is indeed 10th July (same date as the previous tariff, 10th of the month), so the change takes place immediately - result!

How do you swap to Avro if your current energy supplier isn't one that they list on their 'get a quote' section on their website?

I've been on hold to them for 15 mins and emailed them too - are they worth the hassle?

Thanks just took a look and did the same as you £6 a month cheaper than the one I renewed with them in May. didn't know I could change it online either. Changed from 15th July date of the next meter read.
