  • I received a letter in the post today from UKCPS to say that they had cancelled my PCN "as a one time gesture of goodwill". The combination of the initial letter posted in the Newbies post and my contact with the Managing Agent has worked in my case. Thank you to everyone here who has taken the time to provide advice, your time and patience is greatly appreciated. The £100 "fine" has been donated to charity.

    Firstly well done :T

To all newbies, no parking company does "a gesture of good will", what they mean to say is .... we have been caught out with a scam"

Tell them to shove their "goodwill gesture" up their Kyber Pass and take you to court. See how they like them apples.

Fantastic news! Sounds like Savills dealt 'well' with your complaint - however I mute that by saying it was almost certainly Savills who contracted this notoriously nasty bunch in the first place, to infest Castle Marina and bother genuine people going about their honest daily lives.
It turns out that the Managing Agent is Savills, based in Manchester. The Director responded to me today and explained the reasons why the "leaving the site" conditions had been instigated. From a purely business perspective, I do have some sympathy for his position, but had I been reasonably informed of the condition at the time, I would not have parked on the site and I would not have received the charge... he asked me to send him a copy of the PCN and of the appeal I sent to UKCPS and I am grateful to him for taking the time to reply to me.

He also asked for the details of any other customers of the retail park who are also unhappy to have received a PCN on this site. I will not post his details on a forum but please feel free to message me if you have also been caught out at Castle Marina and would like to complain to him.

I will add a link to your success here, to the 'SUCCESSFUL COMPLAINTS ABOUT PPCS' thread which is linked in the NEWBIES thread so people might see it from there or when searching for 'Castle Marina UKCPS PCN'. and they can find ut how to get it cancelled by that guy at Savills.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I love this reason for giving a ticket, definitely an all time favourite but unfortunately i have never got one. It cracks me up that they can make this statement and expect you to pay, or that they might take you to court and present the evidence which is...... which is......ERRR, oh yes, the full video of you driving in and parking up then walking off site. Is there a car park near North London where I can get one of these. It's crackers, funny and magical

it may be worth going in on the friendly approach, send a copy of the ibotson judgement, together with all the other ukcps shenanigans together with something along the lines of that they could be liable for ukcps's actions as principal.

  • I've just been caught out by this just the other day. Usually park up to uses pets at home when going to the vets close by. Unfortunately this time I was running late so went to vets first to come back for use yhe store after. No sooner than 10 mins of parking and leaving got issued a ticket for leaving the site.
Again well within an hour return mark to find a PCN on my car window. Not even chance to have dropped off at vets to come back and shop. Absolutely fuming with this as definitely no one there visibly monitoring site!

Of course not, the Parking Weasel will have concealed themselves, despite the fact that in law they are required to mitigate their employers' losses by informing you of the consequences of leaving the site.

  • Can some one please tell me where to find The template as mentioned below on this site?

You should read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES and then appeal AS KEEPER, NOT DRIVER using the template letter

    Thanks

Yes - it's cunningly hidden in capital letters 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' at the top of the forum you are reading.
