CAB are completely ignorant when it comes to matters private parking.
If you have a PCN and go to them, they will usually recommend you just pay it!!
There was a thread recently (cant remember if it was in this forum or not, think it was another one) when certain questions were asked by members from here to test them, and they failed miserably.0 -
I havent got a pcn, but if i do get one from them then i still am going to challenge it. I wanted to try the "I am sorry" approach but want more to try the "i wont back down" "prove it" approach. i dont think i can sit and wait and do nothing.0

Question. How do they prove a driver left site and not just the passenger/sI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

And why didn't they mitigate their loss?Je Suis Cecil.0

The appeal letter has come back rejected.
My husband wants to just pay it as he can see it is upsetting me.
I do feel sick.
They give me the option to appeal to the IAS.
I just don't think I am strong enough at the moment to cope with this.
It will worry me over Christmas
I am sorry if I don't feel like the fight.
I really appreciate the support and maybe I might feel like fighting tomorrow0 -
Sorry you're not feeling too good.
The opinions of regulars on whether or not to appeal to the IAS are split. Where there is no division is in the fact that fewer than 20% of appeals are ever successful at the IAS. So you may feel you don't have the appetite for researching and developing an appeal to IAS. Your alternative then is to ignore anything else that comes your way (a series of debt collector letters are likely to follow - but they would anyway if you lost at the IAS and didn't pay). The only things not to ignore would be a Letter Before Claim (sent by UKCPS) or real court papers.
UKCPS are mildly litigious (usually in parking in disabled bays without a blue badge - that's their 'speciality'), but you shouldn't be panicked by this. If it did happen, you could settle at any time right up to the court room steps.
I'm not trying to influence you one way or the other, just laying out the options.
See what tomorrow brings. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I haven't got time to post a full reply, but seriously don't worry about this, don't let it worry you. It's not an issue and can easily be dealt with. Trying to panic you and get you to worry is all a part of the pressure tactics. From the Plain Language Commission:
