Hotpoint urgent tumble dryer recall

Write to Whirlpool send the letter registered and tell them that you contacted them when the machine was still under warranty and therefore you think it is reasonable for them to replace the machine since it was sold to you with a fault and not fit for purpose.
I did this and got a new dryer, didn't pay a penny! Stand your ground though, don't let them bully you into paying £59 / £99 for a new one!
Hi, any chance you can tell me the address you wrote to please? I'd prefer a different brand but a swap would be greatly preferable to a nine month wait for a repair.
Thanks!0 -
I've got a vented machine and would be happy to pay £99 for the condenser version. However, given the number that are arriving nonworking or breaking after a few days, I worry this could be a problem in 12 months if it breaks and Hotpoint decide that they won't repair or replace but will refund. My current model cost £200 with the £99 that would be the RRP of this machine spent. But in twelve months couldn't they offer a percentage of only the £99?
For those with £500- £600 machines this could be a huge way of Hotpoint saving money.0 -
I received my email and letter .. has anyone purchased the new dryer that Hotpoint are offering ??0
-
Yes, I accepted a new one costing £59 (usual price £220).
We used it three times in five days. The fourth time, there is no heat, so broken down ALREADY and useless.
Contacted Hotpoint Service (took 45 minutes to get through!). Can't get an engineer to come for 8 days:mad: .
Fed up with today's lousy Hotpoint 'service' - especially as the dryer was a replacement for our trusty 10-year-old Hotpoint which has always worked perfectly.0 -

Better than the 8 months the rest of us face waiting for a repair0 -
I only purchased a brand new indesit In October last year. When i checked the website in November due to media coverage it told me it wasn't a faulty model then in December I had an e mail telling me it was and to register it as faulty. I received another e mail yesterday telling me the repairs are on first based first served so I've got to wait until June of this year (approx). Surely this is contrary to consumer rights.0

What consumer right do you feel you are being denied?0 -
Received an email yesterday, with an estimated September date for an engineer to complete the modifications.
But I can use it as normal until then!!!!!
My question is........if I was unlucky enough to have a fire, would my house insurance be void? As I know of a potential problem?
I have been offered a new dryer at a highly discounted £59 but I feel that I should get it free.0 -
