How did your birthday go? Hope the party was good fun.
I think you should spend the money on clothes or the beast. You said you don't have anything that fits so I would go for it. Plus with the sales you get more for your money. I don't think it's fair on the person to spend cash on debt so I'm with you on that. Plus depriving yourself all the time it's nice to treat yourself guilt free
Sorry about your mum. I don't know why they do it. She wants you so much but pushes you away when she has you. You are now in a position where you know that it's not you, it's her big time with knobs on. Just sad for her.

*I didn't know where any of those banks are!
^Erm mate you've got a 3G or 4G plan why not look it up?
and then when he claims he did go to the bank they didn't have any deposit envelopes and would need my bank card (I use to work for a bank I kinda know this is c**p so 3 days later and the cheque still isn't paid in.
Anyhoo the party is later today but I got sent home from work on Thursday as I seem to becoming down with the cold (doesn't that sound pathetic?) and I've had to cancel 2 shifts at W2 as I've lost my voice because of it the plan was lets get wild for being 30 but right now I think a nice quiet evening is just what the doctor ordered.
Oh my mum and her boyfriend came out from IOI to surprise me for my birthday party

He's perfect as always! I'm going to be seeing him later. BIL is still having run-ins with social workers. He was meant to get a visit on Thursday but they refused him access as apparently his eyes were glazed and he appeared to be under the influence. What Social Work didn't expect was BIL was at a meeting with his lawyer who then walked him round to Social Services so unless he has Bernard's Watch there is no way he could be under the influence of something. Later that night when social services went to see the MIL apparently they looked through all her cupboards and all her rooms to ensure FLP was living in a safe area, its not like he's been living there for 8 weeks or something.. I don't want to paint the social services as mean folk but I think something defo weird is going on. I understand on paper FLP home situation isn't ideal but its not like he's not loved and looked after.
I managed to sell some things on gumtree a cross trainer and health rider for £40 combined (originally listed at a total of £55 but I just want them gone) when I told mum she was like I thought you would want to use them yourself as your trying to loose weight. All I can say is it seemed like a good idea at the time. and I sold some weights for £5.
I'm going to have to swap over my bank account as I currently have the 123 account and with the fee increasing it doesn't make it worth while having as I have no savings what so ever. I'm thinking first direct.Virgin Money £0/£1445

I know social services feels stressful but it's better they keep an eye on him like this for the other children who aren't in safe surroundings. Glad he's happy. He is good. My 2 year old freaks the freak when she misses a nap. Can't believe how much he takes in his stride. I really admire him for his strength. My little girl is loving her easel and her aquadoodle from Christmas if you needs some more toy ideas?
I think first direct is a good call, they pay £125 to swap (I think). Only issues are cheques unless you can pay at the post office?

Day 4 of Flugate and there is still no sign of it leaving and I truly feel awesome. I'm all sore, have fever, producing enough snot to fill a swimming pool (sorry for the mental image) funny thing is I put my glasses on I get a headache, take them off and not only cant I see but the headache continues. Its amazing for not spending money as I'm too poorly to leave the house. The bank cards are wondering what hit them!
I'm trying everything orange juice, vicks, beechams and praying.
The white blood cells should be all over this by now! I can not afford to take more time off work that's 1/2 a shift from W1 (meant to be back tomorrow and it will be a miracle if I'm well enough) and 3 shifts from W2. I'm amazed they are keeping me on when I first started I lost my voice due to tonsillitis, then the BIL -exGF situation and now this. take about a baggage employee.
The party was amazing. I sucked up all my energy and went and smiled and put on my best performance. About 10 o'clock some godsend suggested we went back to my flat (only a few doors up from the venue) and as soon as both my feet crossed the threshold went straight to the bedroom and got changed into my onesie. #rocknroll.
So the Gumtree women never showed up! So I messaged the other folk and within an hour both the items were gone at the original price I had advertised so in the space of a couple of days I had earned an extra £55 pounds. What I didn't expect was the OH to use the money for buying drinks at the party. Still it saved the bank card getting hammered and its great that OH had a great night him and FM done an amazing job of creating a night to remember its juts a shame I'm/was too poorly to enjoy it.
Got more money from folk working to £100 and I'm not going to put it in the bank as I know I will go debit card happy and just spend it on s**t. Was meant to be getting a consultation for the tattoo. I think Ive narrowed it down to 3 ideas but I have reservations
idea 1) A monkey as that's my nickname for FLP, infact when I use his proper name most people ask whos that? I'm just not sure at the moment because things are still very up in the air
2) my toy Dragon Toasty - Hes my favourite teddy bear. When I'm watching TV or trying to sleep everything is made better with Toasty hugs
3) an IOI symbol - Its where I was raised, my family are there, my dads buried there, its home.Virgin Money £0/£1445

Quick update - still not left the house. The debit cards are launching a missing persons for me.#
Flu is still strong and now Ive managed to randomly get pink eye in both eyes! Where the hell did that spring from?!?!?!?
Got a hospital appointment for this Thursday as I need to go for a ultrasound of my eye. When I was at specsavers they said there was lumps at the back of my eyes so they send me to ophthalmology and all the tests where all the tests can back perfect but I still had these weird lump things now according to the doctors its most likely nothing at all to worry about but its just to rule out anything more serious in the background.Virgin Money £0/£1445

Is there anyone out there or have I bored everyone away?
I am glad and pleased to say that I have rejoined the human race! It was touch and go for a while, my poor mum got flown out to hospital on Wednesday with doctors thinking she was loosing her sight in her left eye turns out I have given her an acute pink eye infection *touch annoyed as instead of phoning me to tell me any of this she phones my cousin and I dont find out until she's back in IOI*
My News!
-The hospital appointment *amazingly which was at the same time and location as my mums but again Im not bitter* went really well turns out I have extra calcium in my eye which is making the optic nerve look swollen (Ive got a genetic condition called HME which forms calcium "lumps" in my body so why should my eyes be any different? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
-Im getting a tiny bonus at work this month of £27 due to the time in the month I passed probation.
- I attempted to change my bank to first direct and I got refused :eek::eek: so Im thinking of sticking with Santander but downgrading from the 123 account to a normal basic account
-My team at work have decided to rent out a log cabin for the weekend *its just going to be a massive p*ss up* but they are thinking its going to cost £83 minimum and that's just for cabin god knows about food, drinks, petrol a part of me really wants to go but then again I'm thinking that's £83 better spent somewhere else plus it means I wont be able to work extra shifts at W2.
- Two folk who I went through training with (and they are in my team) are having babies and Im kinda going backwards and forwards whether I should get them a present. Like Ive sent it to £20 max and it would be done through TCB but on the other side of the coin I turned 30 not long ago and I don't see any presents from them, maybe cause that's they are saving up for having the kids :rotfl::rotfl:
Done a rough couple of calculations and I believe I should be able to pay a minimum of £500 this month due to the council tax not being due but Im just really worried incase Ive miscalculated something, it feels like this debt is never going to go anywhere and if Im not accepted for a basic bank account through 1st direct I can only assume I wont be eligible for any credit thats going to help the situation like a loan or 0% balance transfer CC. Feels like when folk younger than me are having familys, buying houses, starting futures Im sitting in the back of the class trying to catch upVirgin Money £0/£1445

*hangs head in shame*
Firstly that's so odd I cant make my computer do a pound sign for the purpose of this post it looks like the good old dollar sign is coming to the rescue.
ANYWAY
Confession time......
I spent about $60 odd on the CC yesterday buying an electric blanket, new pillows and general bits n bobs.
Did my life depend on it? No
Am I regretting it after reading loads of folks debt free diary's? Kinda
Would I need to work 5 shifts at W2 to be able to afford it? Yes
Did it give me the cosyest, cloud like sleep ever? Yes!Virgin Money £0/£1445

So today I got some of my "extra" income of £230 and I paid £156.46 off debts (some off the CC and OD as I said before HMRC isnt incurring interest so minimum payments for them!) and in the space of 1 payment WOOSH the percentage goes from 2.97 to 7.16 wow plus Ive still got to add on my W2 income and OT from W1 and the massive bonus of £27 I got :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Little bit annoyed when I phoned the bank to say can you reduce your overdraft they were like oh there maybe other lending available and I said REALLY?! wow that would be a great help and then they turned around and was like erm actually no there isn't.
Ive decided most things Im going to spend money on Im going to stop and ask "how many hours would I need to work for this?" and see if I really need it my main vice as Im sure most folk know because Im back on the 7am starts (has it been 8 weeks already?!) its taxis, juice and taxis but Im honestly trying to nip this in bud starting........tomorrow.
Still got the BT cheques to pay in so that will be an extra £60 off the CC Im just so looking forward to it being gone for good! Im running away with myself but when I get debt free I think the next thing is to open a help to buy ISA. OH and I are determined to own on our homeVirgin Money £0/£1445

Glad your eyes are better. I didn't message as I thought you'd need to give your eyes a rest. Happy New Year! How's FLP?
Naughty on the spends. Maybe you could put some of the Christmas money towards it? Balance it all out? Take out some of the guilt? Not all but some? I've made a massive purchase too. I'm done tying myself in knots though.

I swear fate is still there saying "things are looking a little too easy for Megano right now lets give her some added stress. See how long it is before she screams at everyone"
Social workers have (in not a sugar coated term) have told BIL they do not think he is a suitable parent and they are looking for FLP to have a mummy and daddy so they have been throwing the "adoption" word around quite a lot and wanting to give him a stable home and at the end of the day that's what we are all wanting but he HAS a dad who is wanting co-parenting until he sorts himself out but as far as I can see social services are like...nope, nada.
The worst thing is we have no timeframe OH and I KNOW we are "next in line" to look after FLP but don't know wether its going to be this month, this year, next year, 5 years and its the not knowing that's driving us crazy because we are trying to sort out our own stuff (like clear our debts) but it feels like we cant move forward. If we get given FLP 1) I'll need to go part time 2) We'll need to move so FLP can attend the same nursery 3) where does that leave the flatmate
THEN
I get a letter from HMRC saying Ive not kept up my repayments and how disappointed they are that Ive not kept up with my repayments and how they have legal powers to come to my home. I'm disappointed because I havnt missed a repayment with them. How dare they send me a letter saying they are going to seize and sell my assets and more importantly. What assets are they talking about?!?!
*And breath*
Got part two of my "extra" income so that's £250 paid of the CC. Its pretty cool to think in the space of a month that's my debt down by over 10%.
Ive been tooing and froing about selling my MUSE ticket for London but then Ive ALWAYS wanted to go to London. So I'm thinking about not making any overpayments in March and keeping the funds for my break away.
Also my friend (Y) has bought me tickets to go see Ru Pauls Drag Race in Glasgow. I thought the tickets would only be £30 but it turns out its £50 but Y said paid her back whenever.
Kitten you live in London right? How much do you think I would need to do "tourist"? Also I noticed you do PAD I know this is going to sound silly but do you just send your spare change over or do you send over a dedicated amount each day?Virgin Money £0/£1445
