Honestly this post isnt much in terms of spending *since the spending diary is taking a break until next Tuesday (Oh payday how I love you!)*
The OH and I took FLP to see Santa on Sunday £9.95 to get 4 rubber ducks and a picture which makes FLP look like he's either drunk or he's seen some horrors (not the best advert for Christmas Ive ever seen :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) as for Santa sounded more like Danny Dyer than from the North Pole.
I was REALLY hoping my W1 wages would have been resolved but they havn't and doesn't look like they will be until next month (will need to do ANOTHER SOA!) so for Christmas shopping we have had to pop it onto the CC, granted not the most MSE thing ever however most things were bought online through TCB so at least we get something back.
There was overtime available at W1 however no one made me aware (as I was off on Friday) so I missed out of 6 hours overtime :mad::mad: at time and a 1/2 then again its hard enough being in work normal hours just now due to the situation with BIL -exGF. Everyone seems to think "well it must be okay! Your here arnt you?!" saying stupid !!!! like "Smile! It might never happen" just want to shout back it HAS HAPPENED! The worst thing that could happen HAS HAPPENED but its just a case of painting on a smile and nodding. Ive also not been at W2 lately, they understand but its sort of if you don't work your shift you dont get paid which is...annoying.
Im so angry at her, and annoyed and upset and hurt and numb. How could she do this? She could have phoned, texted, emailed and someone would have been there.
I find out on Friday whether I got made permanent at W1 or not. I'm really confident (95%) my NPS is the highest in the team, my ACW and AHT is the lowest. I even bought my manager a card for moving home so there is nothing else I can do.
Suggested to OH once we are out of debt we should both save £5pcm each as a trust fund for FLP since his dad isnt the most organised and his mum isnt here anymore and OH went really mad at me. Like Jesus I was suggesting £5 a month not a bloody kidney and half our wages.
£5 x 2 = £10 x 12 = £1200 x 16 (since he's 2 just now) = £19200
I think its more the situation FLP is in rather than the trust fund idea after all no matter how much we save up its never going to bring his mum back.Virgin Money £0/£1445

Morning Megano,
Firstly can I check your maths on the trust fund front... £5 each per month = £10, but over a year that would be £120 saved, not £1200. Makes the fund over the 14 years a bit less than you'd worked out, but still a nice tidy sum for FLP that's not to be sniffed at. One word of advice. ..don't put it into his government child trust fund or whatever they are called now...the kids gets total control of those accounts when they hit a certain age (18?) and can do what they like with the money. I have friends who have massive amounts in these accounts that theyve saved, thinking it s a fund for uni or whatever. ...but I know very well what the 18 year old me would have blown the money on, and it wouldn't have been sensible! Lock your savings away in a bank account with a decent rate of interest if such a thing exists right now, but at least that man's at 16 or whatever, you can pay towards a car or a holiday, but you have control of the money and it's not spend over the bar in a pub.
Good luck on Friday, they'd be daft not to make you permanent with your record, and what a lovely Xmas present that would be!
Keep that smile plastered in place, sometimes people mean well but don't understand. :A
I'm off to see Santa tonight... for DD, not me... hope he's more authentic than yours sounds. We had one with a really, really strong South African accent one year..I'm sure he was a lovely chap, but Santa isn't South African (unless you're in a Grotto in South Africa I guess!). My then 4 year old came out of Selfridges asking why Santa was doing a weird voice while we were in there!PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -

How was your Santa? Did he sound like Sir Sugar got a part time job?
We found out today that BIL-exGF funeral is on Friday (in the local supermarket of all places) however as I think I mentioned we are not welcome so as sad as it sounds its a case if business as usual but on Friday I should find out if Ive been made permanent (Ive got like a countdown going on in my head. I just WANT to know as patience isnt a virtue I posses)
We also got more info from social work why BIL isnt allowed to see FLP apparently in her suicide letter she accused BIL of being abusive in the relationship. I know you never know what goes on behind closed doors but I know for a fact what she is accusing him off didnt happen. The social work were like its your word against her's. How is he meant to defend himself against a dead person?
Mine and OH's biggest fear is at the moment FLP is with PIL they have guardianship but they are both in there late 60's what happens if this goes on for 1, 2 , 5 or 10 years? As much as I hate to say it I think FLP will becoming to live with OH and I before he's 18. Defo need to make an appointment at his lawyers to find out whats happening.
It turns out BIL-exGF's family have been having a field day at her house pretty much clearing out anything of value (amazingly most of FLP stuff as well like toys, clothes) so it looks like we are going to have to start all over again as he only has a handful of toys and clothes as they are being :mad::mad::mad: . So Ive been MSE and searching gumtree and Ive managed to find him a little trampoline for £10.:T
Screw them they managed to mess up BIL - exGF are they hell going to do the same to FLP.
W1 are doing secret santa on Friday been given £10 limit however I had some casual conversation with my person and discovered
1) he's vegan
2) he's American
3) he has a better skin care regime than I do
so Im going to get him a facemask from lush (just a shame lush isnt on TCB maybe I'll go to body shop instead:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Hi well done on the journey so far!
As for your current situation I do understand. I recently (see my diary) had someone I know take their own lives, it is devastating. Well done on being such a support though. x

Re the bit I've bolded above. If you genuinely know that it didn't happen - ie as an example she has accused him of hitting her, at a time and in a place where you were also present, so you have factual information, then you can make a statement to the effect that you were present and the incident did not occur. However - it will be a legal statement, so don't even *think* of stretching the truth to even the tiniest degree to be helpful, will you - it could land you in court. If the information you have is factual, rather than an assumption, get hold of the social worker and let them know that you would like to make a statement in connection with regard to the incident - they should be able to advise how to go about it. Remember that you will need to keep it very factual - clear statements of things that you *actually* witnessed, not what your opinions are on the matter.

So my manager comes back to work tomorrow and I find out if its a P45 Christmas for Megano but I' m very confident its going to be a "Welcome to the team" present. My NPS is the highest in the team, my ACW is the lowest in the department and all the newbies love me for call listening (apparently I have "the banter" that customers love and makes folk feel like they have known me for years)
Discovered I'm only working 1 day over the Christmas period *if I get kept on* and in true MSE style I was like guys I only live up the road if you need anyone for overtime call me:A:rotfl::A:rotfl: Im just gutted I don't have long enough hair to do a hair flick and didnt make a gone with the wind kinda exit.
Had an "discussion" with the OH about "communication" basically I didnt want to leave my excess money in my account so I asked the OH to look after it some Christmas shopping and a new Christmas tree later (8ft from Argos = £30 BARGAIN) he was like there aint no money left and I was like WHAT?!?! You never told me, we are meant to be doing this together like slimming world buddy's and he was like I was going to pay you back. Que a 30 minute discussion about how that wasn't the point and how we should both start a spending diary.
Just as you thought he couldnt make the situation any worst for himself
*Im going to be late home tomorrow so I booked my train ticket online
^ did you go through TCB?
* huff, huff, huff, sigh. No I didn't and I'm getting sick of hearing about that website.
^ Its pushing a button. You have an iPhone its an app that gives you money back when you HAVE to spend money. Suck it up and start using it.
Poor OH he was going to get it in the neck as the internet went down 10 minutes before I was to start W2 :shocked::shocked::mad::mad::mad: so I had to cancel ANOTHER shift I swear Ive already had 4 off already because of BIL - exGF. They understand but if you don't work your shift you don't get paid:(:(:(:(

It's the big day..... do let us know if you have good news Megano. Fingers are crossed.
I know what you mean about OHs not being quite on board. My hubby was kinda the same.. I had decided to clear the debt on my credit cards as I was sick of being in debt so was trying to be frugal and save money so I could throw it at the debt, suggested he did the same but he just used to fob me off. That was 3 years ago and whilst frustrating I just had to concentrate on the debt in my name. Then, a couple of years down the line in the middle of last year he realised that he couldn't carry on the way he was, and finally spoke to me about his cards and debt. We now have his interest rates at zero or very low, he is out of his overdraft etc etc, but it took right until he had the light bulb moment himself for him to change. Perhaps your OH will be the same. The frustrating thing is that I will be debt free come June ish this year and OH will still have a few years of paying off to do...He could have been half way there if we had started at the same time! He won't let me pay his debts off with him, so I'm going to throw my money into savings when I'm debt free.
Keep gently reminding your OH, he will come round eventually.
Now...that job of yours.... is it good news?....PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
