Hello everyone,
I'm new here - do you mind if I join, but I've only got one debt?
Basically I paid off all my interest accruing debt earlier this year :j but I still have £800 on my overdraft (interest free), and as this doesn't have to be paid off till september 2009 I've been a bit blase about it, and was planning to pay off £50 per month (well stooz) until it's gone. However this thread has inspired me to pull my finger out and do something about it!
So, £800 by Christmas, bring it on!

Hi everyone ive updated my sig with my 3 debts.TSB loan going down gradually, I bt the MBNA cc to the mint card as the 0% offer was due to expire and the mint gave me a good offer for the life of the balance transferred.I am hopeing to clear the £88 on the MBNA card in the next couple of weeks , got some quidco money coming and OH is doing OT.Ive also booked a shift OT this month so things might get moving quicker.Its great to see everyones balances going down.Do you think when we get to christmas we could start a clear a debt for easter then I can start on the big ones.0
-
I'll have a bit of this too! Only got 2 that realistically could be cleared by Xmas. These are:
1 - Crapital One c/c £210;
2 - Hellifax c/c £800;
Given the mass of things I have on Ebay, Amazon and my Quidco earnings, I may just be able to do it!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Feeling a bit down about clearing the debt by Xmas as this month my pay was a grand total of £118.21 which was a tax rebate as I did no teaching at all in August. I am on a part time hourly paid contract so no teaching = no wages:mad: .
I will have to really focus to get through this month & I have set some money aside but its going to be tight. I am doing the grocery challenge and Ebay sell what you spend Xmas challenge but I think I will only be able to pay off £100 from HSBC and £300 to Egg which leaves alot to do in November and December.
Everyone else seems to be flying ahead, keep it up everyone you are inspiring:A
P.S Heading should say Need Encouragement but can't seem to change it SORRY! xBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
Good morning everyone, progress towards the bills is going well. DH has gone to his mates house with the spare computer that will net us the £500, I did say that he could use a little bit for a night out with his mate as they haven't seen each other for a while!
So that will sit in the bank, along with £179.99 we are getting from Dial-a-phone as couldn't supply the Wii but this is great as we were going to put it on ebay so after fees etc we would have got less for it.
Somebody emailed me via ebay about the snooker table last night, but no response so far to my reply. It's the bain of my life trying to get rid of it! :eek:
We have been careful with gas and elec and need to start planning for the winter, no double glazing so will put up thick material at the windows to keep the heat in. Mmmm will go begging on freecycle me thinks
So, current totals:
Overdraft: Will be paid off when dh gets home! yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Gas bill: Now standing at £91.72 but may go up slightly as est. and want proper figure
Elec bill: Was £332.47 - 3 months payments of £62 = £146.47
Nearly there!

Good evening all. Where oh where is Emily??
I was doing grand but Christmas is now sneaking up on us. I have paid off Barclaycard ( but added £500 to it this week which will be paid off with my bonus from work so is ok) M&S is £80 :j . That leaves my credit union to work hard on now. As I have said befor though when I manage to get that down to £500 I should have enough in savings to pay it off.
I dunno if I'm going to manage but will definately have a good old try at it. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000
