    Morning :hello:

Sunshine at last! Going to get sorted soon and spend the rest of the day outside :)

Been to loads of concerts this week, I love the Proms :j Tonight I'm going to another one.

Not got much to say in an OS vein, except that I'm really pleased I had an evening in on Tuesday because I really did manage to get some serious sorting out done and my flat is currently managing to maintain a look of relative order rather than relative chaos :T

Hugs to everybody and I hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!

    Love Rzl xx

P.S. PenPen, you look great in your posh frock :T

  • Itis rather dull in Manchester in more ways than one. Hope you guys can brighten me up. Ds is still in bed, probably a good thing as he is being very difficult at the moment- he is both bored and too lazy to find anything to do except wind me up. DD went out to buy the paper over an hour ago and then rang from her friends house to say she would be back when I phoned to say lunch is ready. DH is walking the dog so now is the perfect time to do some OS jobs but suddenly I don't feel like it. Anyone got any suggestions to get me going?

    Afternoon all

Warm and muggy here today - been frantically running around trying to clean the house (I wouldn't normally go this mad but my mother is coming to stay to look after the cats so thought I should make the effort).

DH is at work - he's supposed to be on holiday but there was just a few bits he needed to finish - DD's are out with their friends at the park so it's all quiet here - bliss!

As for the free postage to the troops - I don't know anyone in the forces but would be quite happy to make up a parcel to send out to someone who'd like one - anyone any ideas on where to start on this???

Going to make a chilli for dinner with HM wedges - DD's have requested pizza so will cheat and buy a frozen one as I'm on holiday ;)

Love the pic PenPen - Very glam - love the dress.....where's these waistcoats I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Hope you all have a great afternoon, I'd best go start some lunch before they all arrive home at once, starving as always.

P.S. I had typed a post and it lost it. I have noticed that if I spend more than 10-15 minutes typing, it seems to log me out again. Is this the same kind of problem others are having?

It happens to me every now and then, if you log your details back in it should send the post. If you refresh or press the go back you will lose it!

Wow u look stunning pen pen, that hair colour really suits u:D

Well spoke to dh last night and he is refusing to go, so will be left to me and kids to go there, he would have liked his sisters to consult with him first, they have organised everything, the meal, flowers, cake and how much we are expected to pay without asking if we could afford it or not!

And he hates most of the relatives that have been invited, there are a few that havent been invited that should have been, just because their faces dont fit basically, dh's words not mine!

Bring on tomorrow is all im saying:rotfl:

Kids and dh having a boys day out, have gone off to fort george for the day, not my scene at all!

Hi all, haven't managed to post for a while, so WELCOME to the newbies who've never heard of me.

Congrats and hugs as appropriate! Apologies to those whose birthdays, anniversaries, chuldren's exam results etc, I've missed.

Gingham Ribbon Glad you are feeling so much better! I love your new avatar. At first I thought it was Caroline from Little House on the Prairie, but now I think it's the grown-up Laura? My eyesight's not great atm!

PenPen - your hair looks lovely! It sounds as if you all enjoyed the day.

Oh dear, I can't remember what anyone said!

JuliaPenguin Glad you too are feeling better and hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.

Mrs Mix Wishing your DD a speedy recovery! Seems odd to think that when I was a child it was almost the norm to have your tonsils out.

AussieLass - glad you had a lovely time with DGS, I bet you're shattered now! Will pm you soon but can't type for long atm ((HUGS))

Kyle - it's not good that the party was all arranged before anyone bothered to ask if you could afford the amount they're asking! I'm sure the Birthday Girl will really appreciate it all though. That reminds me, my MIL is 80 next month - we might hear soon from one of my sisters-in-law whether they're arranging a "do" for her - we can't do it as she (and they) lives 60 miles away!

Smokybabe Lovely to see you posting again - hope OH is feeling better.

That will have to do for now! Will post again when I feel up to it. and enjoy reading most days otherwise. Oh. nearly forgot -

Queenie - don't know if you'll see this, but wanted to say how sorry I am that you've been having a sad time. (((HUGS)))

    Best wishes to everyone

Edited to add - odds-n-sods That top sounds gorgeous!
  • Well, I'm back. Did find a top at Debenhams. It was hard to find one because 1: DH hates the 70's look
2: I'm pear-shaped and anything that fits on the top often doesnt' go down over my hips.

So I got a cream top with roses, cross-over at teh boobs, empire waist and black tulle over it with a wide black ribbon arounnd all + tied under the boobs - £60. There were other cheaper tops but DH kept vetoing tehm. There was also a dress in Wallis that I tried on - hot pink with embroidered Black tulle over - it was nice but didn't flatter me as much as the top.

Went to lunch at Chilis - had a chicken sandwich, but always realize that we dont really like the food there. We then don't go for months/ years, then end up back........ it was right by the mall and I didn't have to walk far, but again, we won't be back.
  • I'mfeeling a bit brighter this afternoon, just weather grey now. Iam going to do a HM Lasagne for tea, with frozen cheese sauce from my last big batch and mince I got yesterday from Lidl. This is one of the few dishes that we all eat without endless moans. DD is making a batch of cookies whilst menfolk at football. So far today have only spent on newspaper, so doing quite well. What is everyone else planning for tea(or dinner if posh)?
